“Clean but bare bones”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

We stayed over only for one night as a stop over after getting a super deal off Expedia. The receptionist was very friendly and courteous, and gave us a room on the top floor. The place seemed quite empty, which meant it was nice and quiet. The room itself was clean and utilitarian, definitely no frills. It's very much like a small studio apartment with just the bare necessities. They don't provide shampoo and hair dryer, but you just need to ask for it. It's unlike a regular hotel because they do not provide daily maid service. Usually they charge for internet access but they gave it to us for free.

The location is good, a few minutes away from Alderwood mall, with other restaurants close by. The bed is hard, but we prefer firm over beds that are too soft and mattresses that sag! Don't expect all the services and amenities of a hotel, and it'll be worth the money.

“Only as a last result”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2008

First time stay in an Extended StayAmerica facility, so didn't know what to expect. My first impression after checking in was that the interior corridor and the room reminded me of some Navy barracks I stayed in back in "those" days. Just the visual effect rather than the actual conditions. The room is very spartan, with an exceptionally firm mattress (actually hard). The kitchen has a full size fridge, a two burner stove, and a microwave. Not bad for an extended stay (mine is only 3 nights), esp. with a grocery store virtually next door. The bathroom has a fairly large counter, the shower worked well. The room was clean at check-in. So, that's the okay part.

This is not a smoke free facility. I have what I think is a non-smoking room, but someone around me smokes a lot. The smell, especially this evening, permeates the area, even outside. If you are adament about not being exposed to second hand smoke, do not stay here. If I were staying for a longer period in this area, I would change hotels.

Since my reservation is for only 3 nights, I am not getting any room service at all. Fortunately, the hotel provided 4 sets of bath towels, wash rag, etc., and two bars of soap.... The used towels from my previous 2 nights are still in the bathroom. It is obvious whenever other room's showers are being used, because the water piping is very noisy (this is a first floor room).

As mentioned before, the room is plain. The TV has about a 20" screen, and the cable channel selection is poor. Carpeting is almost of the outdoor variety. A plus is that the windows can be opened, but that is negated by the smoke mentioned earlier. There is no closet, but there is an open rack system to hang clothes on, with 4 hangers provided. In fairness to the hotel, I did not ask for more, but assume I could have gotten them. One medium size dresser, a small recliner, and two small tables for reading or work.

I will not stay here again unless nothing else in the area is available. There are better hotels in the area.

“Suburban feel on the Highway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2006

Staying here was a pleasure: The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and you never heard your neighbors! What is really nice is that the hotel is just off of Mukilteo Highway and yet feels like you are staying in the suburban neighborhood that it is on the edge of (Harbor Pointe Rd goes through some of the best neighborhoods). The hotel is an "extended stay," thus meaning that it has a kitchen, a front desk that closes at night and limited cleaning. If you are need of toiletries or food, the hotel is situated only feet away from restaurants, a supermarket, a convenience store and a drugstore.
