We were starting our annual trek south. we are Best Western rewards members so naturally decided to check out BWesterns first. We went into the office to iquire if their were rooms available for that night. We clearly interupted and inconvenienced the clerk because the greeting was basically "what do you want?" A room for the night perhaps? The opportunity to give you our cash? With much grumbling, she got to her feet....could we see a room? Much eye rolling from the desk clerk. That was really an inconvenience. Did we know the pool didn't work? If we wanted a pool, we should go across the street to the Quality Inn. So we did, and gladly. We were clearly an inconvenient interuption. Just in case readers think we were undesirables being discouraged, we are a clean, sane looking, well dressed couple in their 60's, travelling with a black standard poodle who is welcomed everywhere. Have no idea what a stay would have been like. The reception we received was so rude we would never consider staying here.

This hotel os great. Clean, quiet, friendly front desk. Across the street from an Arby's and DQ. Very comfy, linens are outstanding. Would definitely recommend. 2 blocks west of I-5 & college way. One exit from anacortes exit and outlet center.

To be fair, we thought we had booked the "other" Best Western in Mt. Vernon. This one is located just off the highway, but really the noise level was insignificant. Not so good: the bathroom is tiny (sink is located outside the bathroom), entrance to the room is from the outside, and the furnishings are well-worn. Pluses: the staff is friendly and the expanded continental breakfast is really quite good (waffles, fruit, baked goods, cereals, yogurt, boiled eggs, juice, coffee)!

Right beside the highway with VERY little noise. The rooms vere clean. Staff were very easy to deal with and had a good knowlege of the area.
