We booked two rooms at the Lake Shore as an inexpensive place to stay for two nights while we (my two 20-something sons and I) were in the area for a concert at the Gorge at George. Little did we know we were getting what amounted to an enitre vacation! The Lake Shore Resort is a small family-run hotel on a beautiful spot on Moses Lake. When you're there you are treated like extended family. There is a lovely courtyard area with picnic tables, comfy chairs, barbeque and firepit, all of which quests are welcome to use. There are three little docks right on the lake where you are welcome to picnic, swim and fish, which my sons did the entire day before the evening concert. (We cooked the big bass they caught on the firepit later that night.) Right across the way there is a lovely park with a great frisbee golf course and children's swim and play area, plus the public boat launch where our rental jet skis were dropped off the next day. The Lake Short Resort Motel was a terrific and economical getaway. If you go, the 2-queen bed rooms on the top floor are spacious, quiet and recently rennovated, and worth the additional 20 dollars over the downstairs single. The rooms are no-frills so bring your own shampoo, but at this price who cares! This place is tops for value. We are looking forward to going back.
