“Nice people, amazing view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

This is not a 5 star hotel by any means, but it was clean, the view was perfect, and the family who runs the Motel was very friendly and accomodating. We got upgraded to a cabin for no extra charge because of a small issue with our reservation, and the view and location were great. Not the most comfortable place, but a perfect and affordable spot to stay after a Gorge show.

Room Tip: 2nd story or cabin if you want a view

“Not the Best”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2011

Our biggest complaint about the room we had was the loud air conditioning unit. It was almost unbearably noisy and we even turned it off and dealt with the heat (window did not open) rather than have to listen to the unit that sounded like a lawnmower. The second negative was the bed sheet - it was so rough that we had to take it off and sleep without it.

Otherwise, the room was very functional and fine for an overnight stay. The tv, shower and fridge worked adequately and it was clean enough. There is a small free continental breakfast available in the office. There was a pool but it was inoperative at the time of our stay.

The property is right on the lake and it was refreshing to eat breakfast on the picnic table. The location is literally right off I-90 and very easy to find.

This motel wasn't the worst place ever, but next time I would likely pay a little more to stay elsewhere.

“We had to check out and go across the street”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2011

From their listing "cabins and bungalows that rival that of a 5-star hotel" is far from the truth. The only thing I can say good about this motel is that it was clean. Everything is run down and needs to be painted/replaced. Bathroom plumbed backwards, no wash clothes, thin towels and bedding and on the 1st day of real summer, the cute outdoor pool in the picture was drained, probably because they can't afford the new drains to bring the pool up to code. Should have been forewarned when I checked in and someone was looking for a can of bug spray to kill the ants in their bathroom. Checked out although the guy at the front desk grumbled something about not giving returns and went across the street to the Best Western which was the best plan ever. Hubby was a good sport. Dinner at Michael's was yummy and relaxing on the deck - all the boats wave to you as they pass by!

“GROSS!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2011

This is actually my first review for a motel. I felt obligated to warn you. I'm not very picky when it comes to the more inexpensive motels but this one was disgusting. Not the fact that it was extremely old just extremely dirty. The sheets smelled like they were never changed. There was hair on the pillows. The management gave me the creeps. The sink and shower leaked. The refridgerator smelled. I could go on and on. On the plus side, it is on the lake and if you dont mind picking up garbage you can sit on the dock and enjoy the view. Find another place to stay. You'll thank me!!

“A not so comedy of errors.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 June 2011

Maybe the other rooms are better - we were told our room was in the process of being remodeled - but it was a disaster! From the bathroom door that could barely close, to the door key that would work and was the only key for that door, to the bed with only one sheet and the light fixture with one dim bulb.
Not good
The staff were great about trying fix things, but...they could only do so
much.

Otherwise the location is nice and the view is good.
