“Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We went in the summer and the Freestone Inn is a great place to stay for day hikes in North Cascades National Park. After hiking, the hot tub was a wonderful way to end the evening. And drinking a glass of wine on the balcony. It was still really cool at night so we were able to make use of the fireplace in the room.

“Been coming to the Freestone Inn since it opened in 1996”

We have been coming to the Freestone since our son was 6 weeks old (in October 1996),
he is now 15. It has the feel of an early 20th century lodge in one of the great national parks of
the West. The scenery is as spectacular as any in the lower 48-just drive a few miles west on the North Cascades Highway for some stunning vistas. We stayed there again this last weekend (Oct 2011). The hospitality is as great as ever. My suggestion: Read a book on your own private deck overlooking the mirror lake facing the Inn. Rent a mountain bike and ride along the Methow Valley Community Trail to the Mazama Country Store for lunch. Sit by the fire as you enjoy the varied high country cuisine in the dining room. Find a piece of your own Heaven in splendid isolation at the Freestone.

Room Tip: The second floor rooms in the Inn have vaulted ceilings and there is more privacy when you sit out o...

“always very pleasant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

We always enjoy the Methow Valley and the Freestone Inn. This time we stayed in one of the sudio cabins that we favorably equate to luxury camping. The cabin is simple, rustic and situated next to a babbling brook that provides a peaceful melody all night long. That combined with easy day hikes from the cabin yield a restfull sense of emancipation from all sorts of cares and responsibilities ...

The Freestone Inn is a great landing place after a beautiful drive through the North Cascade Mountains .... we will be back, again and again.

Room Tip: The cabins have very nice stone (gas) fireplaces.

“Freestone Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

The Freestone is a flat out beautiful lodge and a lovely lake. We go back year after year for a September retreat. The changing light of the lake is beautiful, day and night. Food and staff are also excellent.

My grandkids call this "The Big House." They like to visit there each summer too. Biking, fishing and boating in the lake are major hits.

“Can't wait to get back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This was one of our very favorite places on our cross-country bicycle trip. It is very comfortable, has a great restaurant, is in a lovely setting, and is in an area that deserves much more time to explore than we had. We were in the main lodge, and loved looking out on the little lake. We also loved having so many conveniences in our room (washer and dryer, especially). Everyone was helpful and friendly.
