“Booked on Priceline, wouldn't knowingly book again.”

Ok, we were actually trying to get a deal on the Hampton Inn around the corner thru Priceline, but i guess i bid low and here we ended up. As soon as i said our last name, the clerk groaned, " oh, priceline?" She was pleasant enough, gave us a room on the top floor (4th) all smoking. Elevator was scary, awful smell and interesting clientele. I called down to the front desk and inquired as to whether there was anything else available? She eventually gave us a disabled access room on the main floor, much better and i wasn't as compelled to search for bedbugs. It was fine considering the rate at the Hampton was around $140 we got this one for $48 + taxes & fees $60-. One night coming home from a concert in Tacoma, WA. It was alright, but i would bid higher next time. hee, hee.

“Do you smell that??”

I'm sorry but this hotel is the worst I have ever stayed at!! The lady at the front desk was rude and unhelpful and had credit card information sitting on the desk where I could plainly see it while she was in the back...a little scary! There is an overwhelming unpleasant odor, maybe animal urine?! I litteraly had to hold my breath through the hallway even though the room wasn't much better. We had three rooms on three different floors and they were all less than satisfactory!

“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2007

This ESA is the best value I have found in Lynnwood. While the office does close at 11pm, all doors to the building require a room key to enter, which is more secure to me than someone at the reception desk. I've stayed there once a month over each of the last four months. The rooms are spacious and clean with a small kitchen. The beds are comfortable and I have yet to hear any traffic or noise from other guests on any of my stays there. I recommend paying the extra $5 a night for the king instead of the queen as I found the king to be a more comfortable bed. I don't know if the kings here are a better quality mattress than the queens or if they were just replaced more recently or perhaps used less frequently, but I'll gladly pay $5 more for a noticeable improvement in comfort.

The place does have one drawback: on my last stay, the smoke alarm did sound off early in the morning before I wanted to wake up. Upon check out, I inquired whether there had actually been a fire, to which the staff member replied "Someone burned their breakfast, and that happens a lot here."

“Not for me!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2006

This is a "cheap" hotel. Construction is cheap with much noise room-to-room and from the halls. Smell from cooking is bad because no kitchen exhaust fans and poor hall air movement. Tried to charge a higher rate than on-line reservation (this was fixed with a credit back to the credit card). No staff on duty at night results in low security and no one availabe to get loud guests to be quiet, or address other problems. Did not feel secure. Rooms too small for the intended long stay purpose.

The idea is a good one - kitchen and working space at a good rate for extended stays. But trying to convert a cheap property with small rooms does not work. And, lack of security is a major drawback.

“They don't quite get it...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 March 2006

This was my first time staying at an "ESA" hotel/studio. I had recently relocated to the Seattle area and needed affordable accomadations while I found an apartment. When I called to confirm my reservations the front desk clerk was a bit of an "airhead," and could not give me directions. Luckily it was pretty easy to find, right off of the highway. I checked in, and there must of been a shift change, b/c the clerk was articulate and accomadating. She could not of been the same girl I had spoken with previously who couldn't give me one single landmark. The room seemed like a good deal once I saw it. Things quickly changed. What I thought was a King bed was actually 2 twins pushed together. There was very little water pressure in the sinks. There is no dishwashing soap provided. The toilets are only 1.5 gallon tanks so unless you are a small woman or little kid you will have to flush 2-3 times per dump. The bathtub was pretty clogged up and I finished each shower ankle deep in water. They will only clean your room if you stay longer than a week, and then only once per week, and don't do a very good job even then. The housekeeping lady I overheard talking with a co-employee seemed to have a bad attitude. They don't isolate the smoking floors on the top level. So, you could be in a non smoking room and there might be a smoking room right below you, as was the case for me, and I noticed the lingering smell of cigarette smoke most of my stay. In conclusion, if you can make other arrangements do so. This place worked for me in a pinch, but I am very glad I only had to stay there one week. I don't think this company is going for repeat business...too bad, it's a good business concept otherwise. Good luck.
