“Noisy, with wild indians running through the reservation.”

An Embassy suite, by its nature is like a big apartment complex with everyone jammed together and an atrium in the middle.
We had five floors in this one. I do not know how similar it is to other Embassy Suite hotels.
We were there before, during, and after Christmas and New Years. During a normal week it was pretty peaceful with adult, business people being the norm. When the holidays arrived so did the wild indians. Parents let their children run wild through the hotel. Unsupervised, they played games in the elevators and went where they were not supposed to go. If you stepped out your door or elevator without caution you might be run over by a 13 YO running full-tilt! They screamed at each other from the open hallways throughout the hotel. Since it is open in the middle this was a real problem. Management did nothing that I could discern.
There was a lot of noise from road traffic. We asked to be moved and it helped a lot!
There are huge gaps under the doors to let noise in. They do nothing to dampen the closing of the doors. When a room's door closes it slams into the door frame with a resounding crash and that reverberates through adjoining rooms and the whole "open" hotel.
There were several dogs in the hotel at times. Whether they were allowed or not is unknown. They all did bark and make noise when coming and going. So much for any peace and quiet!
Note: I have made a big deal about the noise. I am not a fanatic. This is not a quiet place unless you get the right room at the right time. Good luck!

I cannot recommend any Embassy Suite that is in this open configuration if you go there when kids are there. It's bad enough to hear a business person showering and then allowing their door to slam at 6AM.

Room Tip: The rooms on the front side, and specifically those towards the left end of the front (as you face t...

“Comfortable Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

In mid-December my husband and I and our adult daughter stayed for two nights at this Embassy Suites location. This has become a family tradition, as we use the time to shop for last minute gifts - we always find a better selection in the US than in our home city, Vancouver, BC Canada. We purposely chose the Embassy Suites because our daughter is now 21 and could take advantage of the hotel's very generous 2-hour 'evening reception' of unlimited made-to-order alcoholic beverages (unheard of where we live), delicious cooked to order breakfasts, and two-room suites - all at a very reasonable rate. The hotel is well enough located (about a 20 minute drive to Seattle), and is nicely laid out with an open atrium and rooms on 5 floors with doors and windows opening on to that area. Our only complaint about the layout is that the noise from the Christmas music selections played in the open area disturbed our daughter, who was sleeping on the fold-out couch in the living room section, and started really early - about 6:00 am! Other than that complaint, we found the hotel staff to be very welcoming and accommodating, the room comfortable and thoughtfully equipped, and the price very reasonable considering the included amenities. We recommend this hotel, and plan on returning. (One complaint about the Lynnwood area - the restaurant choices were abysmal. We ended up 'eating in' our two nights, simply because we couldn't find a restaurant that appealed to us, and one that was open!)

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the 'green area', not the highway (in the summer you can hear frogs cr...

“Shannon Healy-Army of One+”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Last minute meeting on New Years Eve and Day! I was not hopeful on meeting all the specific needs for the group, but Nina from events started immediately pulling it all together.

In spite of the number of families (read-kids) running about, it hardly was noticed by our corporate group. Our every request was aggressively, and more amazingly, pleasantly met. meals for 30 covered within 2 hours, coffee refreshes, water refills additional power strips-all done by Shannon Healy.

More than any other reason, it is the staff at this location that has our company returning time and again.

Thank you to all of them who survived not only New Year, but our meeting....

“Service is impeccable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

The service is outstanding. Rooms were clean and comfy. Managers reception was enjoyable also.

Now the minor issues. The breakfast buffet has seemed to be going down the hill the past few years for Embassy Suites. Why??
It seems your getting cheaper and cheaper. By that I mean your using lower quality products than in the past.
The hot tub had WAY too much chemicals in it. After a minute, we had to get out due to the strong smell of chemicals. This should be checked and noticed by staff and not by guests.

As always, a nice stay

“Comfortable and professional”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

We stayed mid week at this hotel for a couple of days of cross border shopping. the hotel is close to Alderwood Mall and about 20minutes from the Seattle Premium Outlet Malls and Tualip Casino. The hotel is a business hotel, the front desk did remind us of that as we checked in with a teenager,so I assume they wanted to ensure she was quiet. The staff was polite, and the hotel room was wonderfully clean .We had a suite that was a little more expensive but gave the 4 of us lots of room to stretch out(and 2 TV's). In room fridge/microwave. We had two double beds instead of two queens, but there was also a pull out couch. If travelling for business, there was a generous sized desk and proper desk chair with several plug ins close at hand. I loved the bed, my daughter thought it was too firm. We asked for the quiet side of the hotel, but because they were full we had the I-5 side.Overall it wasnt that noisy if you kept the window closed. WiFi is $4.95 for 24 hour access, but they have a small business center downstairs with a computer and printer for free. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet, and for a complimentary breakfast it was pretty inclusive! Manangers Reception was 530-730,we were able to bring my daughter downstairs for the Managers Reception as well. Free alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages and light snacks. The hotel during the week was alot of business travellers so it was very quiet. Small pool, sauna and hottub.great workout room. There were people with younger children there, but it's not a hotel geared towards children. No problems with noise from other rooms. There is a large open area right in the middle for receptions/parties so I can imagine it'd get loud if there were events going on. I'd recommend a room on one of the upper floors, we had the 3rd and could still the waterfall, but not loud enough that it was a bother. I found this to be a really comfortable hotel, I would absolutely stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for the quiet side of the hotel when you book. I would avoid a lower floor unless you really nee...
