“Beautiful Seclusion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

We just spent a wonderful night in the Norway Cabin. After wandering our the San Juans we had chosen Blue Fjord Cabins for our last night. We had been rushing around all week and it was so relaxing to find this cabin to end our visit. We had plenty of room, it was extremely clean and all appliances were spic and span.
We did have to hike a bit to get to the gazebo to see the view but it was well worth it though very slippery and primitive trail.
The floor heaters quickly took the chill out of the air and the down comforters kept us warm all night.
It was fun looking out all the window any only see trees........no people walking by or crowds.
If you want a relaxing and romantic get-a-way check these cabins out!

“Peaceful..........”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2010

My honey and I eloped to Blue Fjord Cabins. The Swedish cabins was just what we wanted; a peaceful place for our wedding and honeymoon. As we entered the cabin, there were flowers on the table, wedding flutes and sparkling wine waiting for us. The cabin was rustic and cozy, with a kitchen and everything we needed for our 5 day stay (except the food). The bed was soooooooooooooooo comfortable. There were deer outside in the heavy woods surrounding the cabin and an owl living in the trees.

Do not expect lots of entertainment, crowds or restaurants galore. This is a quiet island and you entertain yourself with hiking, kayaking, bicycling, reading a book or beachcombing. A tv with some old VHS movies are available in the cabins and a few novels in case you forgot yours. Don't forget an evening dinner at the Bay Cafe; the food is wonderful and right on the water.

Thank you Tom and Lorraine for the perfect wedding spot in the gazebo overlooking the water. Thank you for the purrrrrrrrfect place to "exhale." I will recommend my friends that want a quiet getaway.

“Musty, dark and oppresive”

We were quite disappointed in our recent stay at Blue Fjord....to the point that we were willing to forego our prepayment if we could have found other accomodations. We were prepared for no water view but there was no view -- of anything. The brush is so thick around the cabins that zero sun or light gets through. All the cupboards and the closet smelled musty. We stayed for 5 nights but couldn't unpack because there were no drawers. The drip pans under the stove burners were encrusted with old, burned food and the dishes in the cupboard were dirty. We used the tea kettle and brown chunks of calcium buildup poured out with the water. A faux feather mattress pad, broken down from too many guests, topped an old mattress and there were stains on the sheets. We both woke up with backaches in the morning from the divets on the bed. One of the bedside lamps has a burned out light bulb. Our room featured an entertainment set up - a TV, VCR player with several vintage movies and an LP record player! This place could use some serious updating. For the price we paid, I do not recommend it.

“Great slice of Lopez”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2009

The Norway Cabin was perfect for us being a newley wed couple. If you've been married forever and want to have a little space from your spouce this would probably not be the cabin for you. It was a little dark during the day as it is so wooded but it was everything we needed. We would tend to explore, hangout on the beach (recomend Watmouth Bay) or go hiking during the day and save the evenings for a home cooked meal, bottle of wine and eachothers company back at the cabin. One evening we were visited by the resident Barred Owl. How cool! Deer were bedded down one morning and the little hike down to Tom and Lorraine's private cove was great. I am truly in love with Lopez Island. Very friendly and had perfect weather the week we were on the island. Would recomend this to cabin to any couple who loves each other and likes the forrest.
