Stayted there to storm watch...the torn flapping screen and dirty windows did not add much to the experience. The furniture was holey and stained. The linens substandard; The electronics decades old. In retrospect, there was no one there at check in..we waited for awhile and the guy finally showed up. That should have been a clue. There are so many nice places to stay in longbeach, I can.t imagine returning.

Threadbare linens, holes in the sheets, stains on the pillow cases for the flat pillows. Carpet old, smelly, stained. "Breakfast" was supposed to be served 8 am. Person on duty showed up 30 min late. Packaged discount store muffins and "Wonderbread" type bagels with pre-poured waffle batter. Nothing else. Old TV 17", few stations, grainy reception. "View" room had distant view of beach but windows filthy. Towels, though adequate, felt like sandpaper. Lighting absolutely terrible. Bulbs were large "mood" type with low wattage. Impossible to read by. If you wanted light over the table you had to stand on a chair to reach the chain to turn it on, then was so low light was useless. All this, and no cheaper than anyplace else in town. Sheets so worn the fitted bottom sheet popped off the mattress during the night.

We were there for 20 minutes when we checked the mattresses and found what were more than likely dead bedbugs. upon telling the management he first tried to blame it on my 7 pound dog who never even left her kennel and these bugs were under the mattress. A motel maid lifted the mattress further finding pieces of another one. ewwww we left, our money was refunded a few days later. When we checked out the guy who was quite unorganized at the front counter ( he said he was the owner) treated me as if I did something wrong he told me I don't care if you stay or not I want people here who are less hassle....WHAT? that's so unprofessional and rude.Needless to say I will let friends know of the incident and NEVER stay there again which is a pity since when it was called the ocean lodge I had been staying there with my family and friends all growing up for 3 decades..

The hotel was very average. The price was the same as other hotels in the area. The room was clean and average size. The free breakfast was just sad. They did not even serve juice.
