“Great stay with lovely people.”

We came during the off off season and rented two 3bedroom townhouses. Both places were well equipped, comfortable, clean and virtually sound proof (I can vouch for this since I know how loud the place next door was!). We loved having a full kitchen and a warm fireplace with a great view of the beach. The weather was cold and snowy, but we could hang out inside nice and toasty and still get great views. The kids enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and we look forward to coming back in the summer when we can do more than shiver on the beach (although the dog loved it). The staff was all very accommodating with us and we couldn't ask for more!

“Wonderful Stay!”

We usually go as a family of five to Long Beach every summer. We have stayed in several of the resorts that offer bedrooms and kitchenettes and this one has been our favorite so far. The three-bedroom townhouse with a lovely ocean view had enough space for two teenagers and an eight-year old ( even mom and dad as well!). I didn't have to worry about kids making too much noise upstairs as the downstairs was ours too. I didn't know how I would feel about no daily housekeeping but ended up liking it as I didn't feel the need to scurry around and pick up before we left the room. Any extra shampoo, towels, etc. is easily acquired at the desk. The gas fireplace was perfect after watching the sun set from the beach. The kitchen was well stocked so we were able to cook all our meals--a short drive to town for treats like ice cream. The staff was friendly and the grounds well-groomed. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

“A great family getaway”

For location, It's a couple mile drive north from the center of Long Beach, so you'll need to drive pretty much everywhere unless you are content to stay on the premises.

We had a one bedroom and a three bedroom suite for three days. Both units were clean, fairly comfortable and well-enough appointed. We cooked meals daily and the kitchen areas were well stocked with cooking/prep implements, and what additional items we needed were eagerly provided by the very accommodating folks at the front desk. The rooms both faced out toward the beach, from the upstairs unit we could see the water. It's about a 1000 foot or so walk along a somewhat rough trail from the buildings to the beach.

Our adult children used the pool facilities and enjoyed them, but I can't report first hand.

Overall, we found the Lighthouse to be a good value, especially for our large party, and I would not hesitate to book there again!

“Bait and Switch. Beware!”

The have nice pretty pictures on their website of nice looking place to stay. But as you travel down a road to get to this place you will pass a row of dumpy rundown what looks to be a 1950's motel. Guess where they put us. We complained and they said they didn't have any other rooms available. DON'T GO HERE!

“Great place for dog and kid”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011 via mobile

We stayed at the lighthouse ocean front resort with our dog in our one year old. The place is set up as series of 4 townhouses or condos. We stayed in a one bedroom. Everything was clean and functioning well. There were a couple of screens missing from the windows and a cracked tile on the fire place so the place is starting to show it's age. The beds were decent. The kitchen was well stocked. The living room was set up nicely with a small table and TV and DVD player. We stayed in two different one bedrooms due to extendin our stay and our 2nd floor room with a view being booked. The rooms were virtually the same in there set up and condition. It's important to note both rooms dis not how signs or smell like dogs had been staying there.

This hotel is a short walk through the grass to the beach where we spent every day with the kid and the dog. There is also a pool which We splashed around one day.
