The Adventure Inn is located right in downtown! Take a stroll to a restaurant or gift store and easily stop back at your room before heading out on another adventure. The rooms are huge and comfortable. Our living room, complete with sofa, coffee table, big comfy chairs, DVD player, big flat screen TV, microwave and mini fridge made our stay that much more enjoyable and relaxing. I felt like I was at home. Everything looked and smelled clean and fresh. There are TVs, big comfy chairs and nice heaters in each bedroom. There are only five drawbacks which probably explain why the prices are lower than other nearby hotels. First, in our suite, we had two kings beds (in their own rooms), as well as two sofa pull out beds - enough for two big families with their children - but everyone has to share one bathroom. Not a big deal for us, but I could see how others wouldn't want to share the bathroom. Second, it is difficult to find an entrance to the hotel! I know this sounds weird but every time we went out to town, when we came back we had no idea where to go. We would walk round and round the building trying to figure it out. The Inn lobby is in the 2nd floor of a huge building and the suites are in the 3rd floor. There are other offices in the 1st and 2nd floor. We found about 4 or 5 exterior doors that did lead to our room. One didn't have a knob on the outside, another would be locked sometimes and not others. At least three times we came in a door and the lady at the front desk would say "How did you get in here!? You can't use that door!" But there were no signs on the doors or anything. Thirdly, there was a sign with a cell phone number instead of a receptionist at the front desk for 3 out of 4 days we were there. They did answer the cell phone right away though. Fourth, and this is the worst one, the hotel building is located on a dead end right next to a huge gully. Well, my friends, apparently, that dead end gully is where all the snow plows from town push the snow...starting at 4 am. Each day we were there, we woke at 4 am to listen to the constant sound of a very loud clanking tractor going back and forth pushing all the snow over the bank into the gully. They would finish by around 6 am. Granted, our entire 4 day stay it snowed nearly two feet. You might not have that problem. Better bring earplugs just in case. And lastly, our mattress felt like trying to sleep on a trampoline! Every time my husband turned over, the whole thing would wiggle like jello and wake me up. I finally had to move to the sofa. But our family staying in the second bedroom had a great bed. So I think the mattress quality is hit or miss depending on the room. These drawbacks might sound bad, but overall, we were extremely delighted with our rooms, the location and the town. Our whole stay, we kept saying to each other, "These rooms are awesome! What a great deal!" Even though the hotel was packed, we never heard other people through the walls. We never had a problem with running out of hot water. The water pressure and shower was great. And the tap water was surprisingly deliciously drinkable! The parking is convenient and free for hotel guests. Adventure Inn snow-blowed the walkways and parking lot every morning and even cleaned the foot of snow off each guest's car in the parking lot! They try really hard to make each guest happy. We are planning to come back to Leavenworth and stay at Adventure Inn regularly from now on!
