We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, which has 2 separate rooms each with a queen bed. If you have back problems or are disabled, this is not the place for you. After check in, you have to lug your bags yourself up about 20 steps to the second floor. From the steps up throughout the halls is all old blue carpeting with lavender colored walls, there was no help offered with our bags, as I believe there was only one person there that checked us in. We were given keys for the room (real keys!).. The room is in bad need of upgrading. It is all carpeted, mismatched furnishings, soiled upholstery on the chairs. Old linoleum floor in the bathroom. However the rooms were clean and linens were fine. I will post pictures which speak for themselves. The most unbelievable feature was the outdoor deck, which was peeled plywood and rail posts that were rotted. The view was fine looking off to the distance but don't look down on the slum which surrounds below. There is no river view, but it isn't far, it is obscured by brush. Our room was 208, right next to the deck, and the door going out to the deck slammed hard every time someone came in or out, and there is a bar nearby that gets loud; however it does close around 11:00 p.m. If you stay here just hope that your neighbors don't decide to party out on the deck or you will not sleep.
The manager was nice, we requested wine glasses which were brought up quickly, and they fixed the aluminum shade in our son's room which wouldn't shut.
It does look like the king room is nicer, we did get a peek at it from the hall as we walked by. Still, I don't believe it would be worth the price. If the hotel would put some money into remodeling it could be a great property. The location is excellent, walking distance to town, and a great new sushi restaurant just below.
