This was my first b&b stay in the states. I was a little apprehensive, since I usually like my privacy on vacation and am not usually into lots of socializing. This place was cute. The owners, Hailey and Rick were really great. We didn't even see the other people that were staying that night in the other room. We checked it, headed out to an early dinner, and came back greeted to a "Happy Valentine's Day" chocolate cake in our bedroom. It was really sweet! We stayed in our room the rest of the night and had brought a bottle of wine with us and played some cards. The bed was amazing!! It had the fluffiest feather bed that I can remember sleeping on. The only downside is there were a few beetles/ bugs in our room that I had my fiance kill for me ;) What should I expect being out in the wilderness? The breakfast in the morning was HUGE and delicious. We had a ham/cheese breakfast personal casserole and a heart shaped blueberry muffin with some bavarian cream and bananas on top. yum! I am sure I gained a few lbs from the trip. One tip I would make, is be sure to print out the directions and bring them with you. I forgot and got a little lost, but once we called they gave us clear directions right away - we just had to drive around a little bit to get a signal. It was a great anniversary/ valentine trip!

My husband and I were married at the Featherwinds Lodge in Leavenworth on January 23, 2010, and our wedding was a dream come true! I could not have asked for a more beautiful evening! We rented out the entire facility for our wedding party to lodge in, incl us, and our wedding was held in the sunroom. It was such an elegant, fun, wonderful wedding. The owners, Dawn, Cliff, Hailey and Rick did all and everything they could to make my special day everything that I wanted. The room was gorgeous, and the two small decoration issues that I had were immediately adressed beyong my expectations. Rick was so helpful in making sure everything ran smoothly, and the cake was to DIE FOR!

GREAT! as usual! This is our 3rd and NOT the last time we will visit Featherwinds. We returned to the place we honneymooned to celebrated our 5 year anneversary. Everything was wonderfull again. Cliff and Dawn as always were and are fabulous in resolving any issue that came up. (the issue was a light bulb was out) As far as bugs in the facility (it is located in the woods what do you think?) The stink bugs smell good believe it or not. We only saw ONE. We enjoyed our desert by the lobby fire with Cliff and Dawn while enjoying lifes conversation. Thank you Cliff and Dawn, our special friends for making our special occsaion wonderful as always.

Recommend this Hotel? ABSOLUTLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been handing out business cards since we came home.

My nephew's wedding was at Featherwinds and it was over the top. I watched in absolute joy and comfort. The grounds were lush, colorful and well kept. The staff was warm, welcoming and very helpful, even going out of their way to help us with a surprise photo display for the newly weds. My wife couldn't help but shed a few tears at the beautiful facility and decorations. The flowers Featherwinds did for the wedding were gorgous and looked like a million bucks. The buffet was back lit and was a sight to see in itself, not to mention the quantity of foods and the quality of foods were mouth watering. Portions of foods was more than you can believe and even the wedding cake portions were more like eating a piece of cake at home, not in a gourmet restaurant, but the flavor and quality was better than a gourmet restaurant.
The helpful staff made sure things went off without a hitch including decorations, timing, and keeping the bride and groom on task for doing the flower and garter toss. One of the staff even showed my nephew and lovely bride how to cut the wedding cake for photos and then the staff took the cake to the kitchen to cut and plate pieces for everyone.
The cake looked like something from a TV show, elegant and beautiful, a shame to have to cut it up! It was so nice and refreshing to be part of a wedding at such a classy facility with staff that really care. Alcohol was allowed in the celebration room and there was a lot (unfortunately). Most of the alcohol left for the after party where it was finished off (as I heard it).
Most of the guests stayed at the "resort" after the reception and continued the partying (for the younger crowd) at one of the lodges. We retired early to our room at the Bed and Breakfast that featured real feather beds! We slept so well we almost didn't make it down for the wonderful gourmet breakfast our host and hostess cooked for us. This is actually not the first time we've stayed at Featherwinds with all of our travels to Leavenworth and we are never disappointed! And always amazed and impressed.
It was nice to discuss the wedding and how Featherwinds came about doing weddings and what all they do. I would recommend Featherwinds not only for lodging, but for weddings and retreats.
You made my nephew (adopted son) and his wife so very happy! To the staff that cared so much, thank you with all of my heart.
