“Transitioning to a conference center from INN”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

This was a larger B&B with fireplaces in all rooms and comfortable furnishings. This year it has been changed to the North West Language Center and both signs are up, but visible only driving into Langley from the south. With a two night stay, the rooms were set up, but not freshen or towel changed. As the NWLC, the breakfast has be simplified to scrambled eggs and pastries and fruit which was enough for breakfast as one might find in a motel chain. It is walking distance, but on the main road into town, there is a trail path that might be nicer and in our case, with the rain, we drove. The grounds and parking are pretty although with an event in conference, the public space may be crowded.

Room Tip: The Tennyson room in the back is the smallest, but quietest, away from the road into Langley. The...

“A very special place with a delightful innkeeper”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2009

We returned here four times this past year with visits of 4 to 7 nights each time. We found Ashingdon Manor to be a very cozy and comfortable accommodation in a lovely country setting by a pond. We had a different breakfast each morning which were both delicious and hearty. We would recommend it without reservation.

“Perfect Retreat ~ Completely Rejuvenating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2009

Being a B&B owner myself, I'm highly critical of lodging establishments, and a bed and breakfast is no exception. Ashington Manor really impressed me, from the moment I drove in. The grounds are absolutely amazing and I immediately felt at peace. The friendly innkeeper met me and showed me around the property, even taking time to show me the open rooms (they're all so beautiful!). My room (the Guilford Room) was clean and spacious, the window opened to the sound of the babbling brook and fresh cool air, and the fireplace was such a nice feature. I was given detailed information about restaurants, shops, etc in downtown Langley (cool little town).

Coffee in the morning was just steps from my room, and breakfast was a wonderful fresh and healthy spinach, roasted red pepper & onion omelet with baby red potatoes, a dense and hearty slice of dark rye toast, and fresh juice. The conversation was casual, fun, and interesting.

I spent a good deal of time before breakfast in the gardens, listening to the frogs and birds, watching the geese enjoy the pond and just admiring the colors and beauty of the property. This is a wonderful place to get away, even if just for the weekend, and I hope to return someday.

“Bay and Daniel Rock!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2009

I came to Langley Island for a much-needed solo retreat. Bay and Daniel treated me so kindly! They catered to my every need, including breakfast in bed every morning! They have a wonderful family and a very sweet dog. When I had a stomach ache, Bay made me ginger/lemon tea with real ginger in it. They are both excellent cooks and had perfect recommendations for eating out each night. I even went out with them one evening! Comfortable rooms, privacy when needed, and social when wanted! A big thumbs up!

“Great Treat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2008

Ashingdon Manor was a wonderful addition to our trip to the Pacific Northwest. It is located in a bucolic, country setting which is walking distance to downtown Langley. Daniel and Bay Ginder are excellent hosts who went way over and above what was expected of them to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Bay's breakfasts are delicious and the rooms are comfortable and roomy. We've already booked our rooms for next year's vacation!

  • Liked — The congeniality of the hosts
  • Disliked — With more money invested the grounds and the building could be manicured more.
