On 1-8-2011, we tried staying here, but due to the actions of the front desk clerk, Danica, we could not. I made a reservation for two rooms for one night just that day. I called in that morning on our trip 200 miles away from home. I had two days of meetings at McChord AFB and my wife, my 8 year old daughter and our family dog, were joining me for what we had planned to be a working but enjoyable weekend get-away.
That afternoon, my wife arrived at the hotel to check us in, only to encounter a hotel employee named Danica working the front counter. From the start, Danica seemed angry and short tempered. She refused to allow my wife to get the room keys because the reservation was made by me in my name. So my wife phoned me, interrupting my meeting, and I spoke with Danica.
I explained the situation and still Danica refused to let my wife in. Instead, she demanded that I send over a written authorization for my wife to check us in. She also demanded that I FAX over a copy of my ID and my credit card to her - something which no one should do unless they want their identity stolen!
I could not understand why this was happening, because my wife had her ID out and available and she has the same last name as I do and her ID has the same address I had earlier given to this same front desk clerk! I also made it clear that within the next two hours, my meeting would be over and I would personally come to the front desk and sign in, if that was needed. Still Danica refused to check my wife in.
After having Danica say no many different times, I asked to speak to her boss, and she again refused to give me a phone number so I could elevate the issue for resolution. After about 7 minutes of this rude and disrespectful conversation, Danica said she was canceling my reservations to her hotel. I had not asked for that to happen, she just decided to do it! this meant that we were 200 miles away from home and had nowhere to stay. Unbelievable!
I again, asked to speak with Danica's boss, but so far, no one from the hotel has called me back. I was even toned and respectful with Danica and so was my wife. It was this employee Danica who was rude, interrupting me several as I spoke to her and refusing to reach some other accommodation. Two other business colleagues at my meeting were listening in on speaker phone and could not believe the appalling treatment I had just received!
Read the previous reviews carefully. As you will see, other travelers have also reported serious problems with the service at this facility. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU CONDONE RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL AND HATEFUL SERVICE.
