I've stayed at LaQuinta Inns numerous times for work. They're pretty "cookie-cutter" as far as hotels go, right down to the art on the walls and the staff ( I could swear that the night-desk clerk at this location also works days in Boise), but at least they are predictably comfortable and functional if not exciting or inspiring.
Upon check-in, the desk staff informed me that they had upgraded me from a standard two-queens room to a "king suite" at no charge. I'm not sure if that was due to overbooking or because I'm a rewards member, but it turned out to be perfect for my needs. The King suite has a large desk area with a comfortable desk chair and a port for power and high-speed internet; I spent hours at that desk each night. The king bed was comfortable, firm but with a pillow-top. There is also a small sitting area with a love-seat and two side chairs.
The bathroom is spacious and nicely finished with marble and boutique-hotel type touches. The toiletries are citrus-scented and high-quality; and there is a dual shower-head that sprays plenty of hot water.
Buffet-type breakfast is included and is pretty good; there are eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, cereals, a wide selection of breads, yoghurt, fruit, and freshly-made pancakes and waffles. There is also a Denny's right next-door, if you need a bucket of eggs and ham.
Even though I had to go $15 over my allotted lodging budget, it was worth it for the workspace and comfort; at the end of a long day, the room was a welcome "home" to come to and unwind.
