We stayed here for two weeks since we just relocated to the area and the base was full. We got a pretty decent government rate. The hotel is right off of I-5 which can be a good and bad thing. The noise was pretty bad but after the second night didn’t bother me that much. If you are a light sleeper, I don’t think this hotel is for you (or bring a white noise generator).
The pool and fitness center are open 24 hours. We tried to use the fitness center once and only once. There are four bikes and one treadmill. Two bikes were completely broken and the treadmill works for walking but the mainframe does pop up if you hold on to it. The remaining two bikes were very old. So basically, don’t count on using the fitness center. The pool and whirlpool were ok though.
The breakfast was pretty basic. The waffle flavors cycle and there is a pancake maker. I will say that the lady in charge of the breakfast area is constantly cleaning and replenishing items as they run out.
I do take issue that the ice maker on the second floor, after two weeks, was STILL broken when I checked out. There was a sign saying to go to another floor. Um ok. TWO weeks later?! Also....the hotel has some strange idiosyncrasies with its key cards. You have to get a separate key card for the pool, the business center and the laundry facility ($2 per wash and dry). It seems redundant to me to have to get a key card for each door. Oh and be aware that even if they just keyed it, it doesn’t mean it will work an hour later. The locks cycle...so I had to go to the front desk twice when I was doing laundry.
Oh and yes the wifi did suck in our room. It was a lot better in the lobby and at certain hours of the day. But it really was slow. I usually went to a public wifi spot if I needed to do work.
So all in all I will say this is a decent hotel but nothing spectacular. The front desk was always nice but....don't expect too much!
