King Oscar Inn was pretty reasonable. It was close to where we needed to be, had a continental breakfast and free parking. The service was just "meh" the front desk workers were not very helpful especially to out of towners. They couldn't even tell us where the nearest cleaners was. And when the waffle maker broker (not our fault) they were just nasty. BUT like I said, it was ok for what we needed.

I stay here often and it is good for business. Nothing really spectacular but adequate and good value.

I like the steam room, hot tub, and pool. I like the fresh warm cookies when you check in. Some new staff lately but I found the old staff friendly and am hoping the new ones continue the same.

My husband and I were going to a party in Olympia, an hour away from home. We needed a place to stay the night. We arrived very late. The room was clean and suited our needs. The only problem I noticed was in the morning the sounds from the room above us were very noisy. We could hear, we think kids, running across the room, falling on the floor, and jumping on the bed. Also, we would have been disappointed if we wanted to use the fitness center, because it was closed for renovation.

My wife and I were in town for a 10 day stay on business. We thought we would like the location, but was surprised at how noisy it was. We had to keep the window open because the a/c didn't work well. We went to the pool and the chlorine was so high it burned your eyes. The pool and spa were green and cloudy and just nasty. I asked if they had a pool service and they said the manager takes care of it herself...uuugh! Their fitness center is closed, but was told they had one when I called. I had told them that it was important to have good internet, but we could not even connect. I called the office that night and asked them to reset the modem (which she did) and she told me that they have been having problems for 2 months. I had read other reviews on the hotel and they had said they were rude and unfriendly. All I can say to that is... so true! We checked out to find another hotel and asked them to delete the authorization on my cc. Five days later I had to call again to get it off and she said I would have to have my bank call her manager or wait 3-5 bus. days. I later found out that hotel is famous for the local (ladies of the night) to take their (John's).
There are lots of hotels in the area to stay at. This is not one of them. The am girl at the front desk should not be working with the public as a customer (SERVICE) representative!
