We showed up about 3:25 PM and waited in line to be given our room. That was not the problem at all except as we waited a gentleman approached us and asked, "would you like to buy my room for $40. I paid $90 for it and only stayed about an hour. We got electricity at home and want to give up our room." Now you got to remember we were in Lacey Wa. about 3 miles north of the State Capitol of Olympia. They had been thru a terrible storm the week before and many people booked hotels because they lost electricity at their homes a week before and wanted a hot shower and heat. The hotel was not giving any refunds or assistance even though they had a waiting list of people who would take the room. We declined and got our reserved room as scheduled. When we climbed the stairs to the room (no elevator) only to discover that the room wasn't made up. Finally we got assigned a room in the basement (we are seniors) and went up and down stairs shlepping our luggage up and down three sets of stairs. The room was dirty, needed some towels and wash cloths and just very small. Large closet to be honest. The family upstairs over our room had several aspiring gymnasts in there with parents that must have been their coaches. Needless to say between the gymnasts and the dogs across the hall sleep was fitful. Only one nite and we were gone. Thank you very much.
