“The Perfect Little Getaway”

It has been a few years since we have been to la Conner and the Wild Iris Inn. We are happy to say it was just as good if not better. Upon arriving we were warmly welcomed and were promptly shown our room. We were told of all the ameniites the inn had to offer including the tea and coffee in the common sitting room. We chose one of their King rooms. It was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The bed very comfortable with lovely linens and the rooms decor was tastefully done.My husband loved the cookies the the inn makes fresh daily and definitely large enough to share. We also ordered the wine and cheese package that was delivered to our room after we came back from exploring the galleries (Very Interesting) and kitchen shop in the town of La Conner. It included a generous plate of assorted cheeses, crackers, grapes and chocolates along with a bottle of Californian chardonney. This was our dinner. Just perfect. We met the owners Lori and Steve at breakfast the following morning. I am not sure what was going on in a previous somewhat negative review but it was DELICIOUS! It had three courses starting out with lovely fresh berries and yogurt, a just baked muffin, orange juice and coffee. It was then followed by an egg scramble with veggies and sausage in it on an toasted english muffin. Only the best ingredients were used. I cook alot and this chef knows what they are doing. As we were on our way to Seattle we only stayed one night but for sure we will be back and the next time will stay a few days. Thanks Lori for the interesting conversation and your generosity. Wishing you both all the best.

Room Tip: Although our room overlooked the parking lot it was very quiet. We have staying in others with the...

“Fine room, fine food”

This was an impulse overnight trip to take advantage of glorious February weather and to see the migrating snow geese of the Skagit valley. The Inn was the perfect lodging choice: room (casual king) was comfortable, well furnished, spotless. And the breakfast was excellent: fruit and bread plate, plus a delicious quiche. My only (minor) complaint was having to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs (no elevator).

“This is a great place to relax!”

Had a great time there, breakfast was always more then we could handle. The cookies in the room were both unexpected and sooooo goooood. We had the room with an outside hot tub, which worked well for us. And the fire place and king size bed! Handy location for visiting shps and restaurants in La Conner.

Room Tip: Ask about inside/outside hot tubs, you have a choice.

“Really great stay!”

My husband and I stayed here a couple weeks ago for our wedding anniversary. It was during the most recent snowmageddon in Seattle and we had planned to stay in a different town, who canceled on us as we were packing the car to leave. My husband called the Wild Iris to see if they had room and talked to Lori, the owner, who was so sweet. When we arrived she greeted us enthusiastically and took us to our room. We went for the mid-level room with the gas fireplace and outdoor jacuzzi, which was lovely. There were even fresh flowers and freshly baked cookies! (Which are amazing.) The bed was super comfy and they have aveda products in the bathrooms. Even the decor of the room was nice (which we had not expected based on other inns we have seen.) Breakfast the next morning was terrific. A yogurt parfait and muffin for the first course and quiche for the second. I had told her that I don't eat pork the night before, which she remembered and made me a meatless version, which was delicious. We felt like the owners really go above and beyond and we will definitely go back to the Wild Iris and recommend it to anyone!

“Wonderful Weekend!!!”

For our tenth wedding anniversary, I was very picky as to where we would stay for the weekend to celebrate. I wanted something not too far from home, but where I could feel a world away! I heard about the Wild Iris from a friend who absolutely loved her stay there. I decided to check it out and after talking on the phone with the delightful owners, Lori and Steve, I knew that it was the perfect place. They couldn't have been more welcoming and the entire Inn was perfect. Privacy, gorgeous decor, and fantastic linens made this the ultimate romantic getaway. Not to mention the incredible breakfasts and impeccable service at all levels. I can't recommend the Wild Iris enough!
