It has been a few years since we have been to la Conner and the Wild Iris Inn. We are happy to say it was just as good if not better. Upon arriving we were warmly welcomed and were promptly shown our room. We were told of all the ameniites the inn had to offer including the tea and coffee in the common sitting room. We chose one of their King rooms. It was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The bed very comfortable with lovely linens and the rooms decor was tastefully done.My husband loved the cookies the the inn makes fresh daily and definitely large enough to share. We also ordered the wine and cheese package that was delivered to our room after we came back from exploring the galleries (Very Interesting) and kitchen shop in the town of La Conner. It included a generous plate of assorted cheeses, crackers, grapes and chocolates along with a bottle of Californian chardonney. This was our dinner. Just perfect. We met the owners Lori and Steve at breakfast the following morning. I am not sure what was going on in a previous somewhat negative review but it was DELICIOUS! It had three courses starting out with lovely fresh berries and yogurt, a just baked muffin, orange juice and coffee. It was then followed by an egg scramble with veggies and sausage in it on an toasted english muffin. Only the best ingredients were used. I cook alot and this chef knows what they are doing. As we were on our way to Seattle we only stayed one night but for sure we will be back and the next time will stay a few days. Thanks Lori for the interesting conversation and your generosity. Wishing you both all the best.
