“Very Good Hotel for business or leisure stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2010

This elegant hotel has a business club atmosphere, spacious and private, a contrast from the crowded feel of other hotels. Rooms are large, comfortable, and relatively sound-proof so you can get a peaceful night's rest even if the hotel is full. Friendly, courteous staff, well-maintained hotel, nice secure feeling. Good for both families as well as business travelers, and I would recommend this place for single business women as well. Close to shopping plaza, restaurants, and the movie theatre, so plenty to do even if you are traveling alone. They also have meeting rooms so great place to host business and group meetings, or parties and events. Definitely a gem, I would stay there again when I visit for business or leisure.

“Not what was advertised, dirty and rundown”

My husband, myself, and mother/father in-law traveled to Washington to visit our son and his family. This was on a Friday night. We spent three nights at this hotel. Checked in and put luggage in our rooms. We had two separate rooms. Then went to visit our son. We returned late to the hotel to find our room had not properly been cleaned. There were cobwebs above the bed and along the wall beside the bed. There were crumbled corn chips on the floor under one of the chairs. We complained Saturday morning to the front desk. The assured us it would be taken care of. Had free breakfast of day old donuts, a toaster that didn't work well, two boxes of cereal etc. Glad I didn't pay for the meal. Returned Saturday night room still in same condition. Complained again. So they gave us a free hot breakfast the next morning. Also not worth the price if I had to pay for it. Sunday night upon return room still dirty. No offers ever of a different room or for someone to clean immediately. Really getting mad now.
Filled out a dispute form. We were again offered a free breakfast the next morning, told them I would not bother with that again it was not worth it. Told them I had stayed in a Best Western along the interstate on the way to Kirkland and it was much less per night had a wonderful breakfast and nice clean rooms. We expected someone to call us in 5 days because we asked for $25 per night back. No response we followed up with them in 7 days. Sabie told us she would give us complimentary nights in a suite on our next stay. I told her we don't come to Seattle but a couple of times a year and not sure when we would be back and I wanted a reduction of our nightly fees. She said she would have to get authorization and would call back in 2 days, now 7 days and I had to call her back again today. Jeana answered the phone and said she thought that had been resolved. She then asked if I had gotten a phone call, you guessed it I had to reply no. She left a message for Sabie hence this review. NO ONE SHOULD STAY HERE. ROOMS RUNDOWN, DIRTY, AND FOOD LOUSY. Also pool and hot tub not working.

“Run down hotel that doesn't honor reservations”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2010

When we arrived at our hotel, the clerk checked us in (myself, my husband and our 17-year-old). We went to our room to find only one queen sized bed, despite booking a room with 2 queen sized beds. The front desk person said it was not his fault and that Travelocity had booked the reservation even though there were not any 2-bed rooms left. He refused to help us, saying it was not his hotel's fault.
After my husband left to drive the 3-hours home alone and rejoin us in the morning, my son and I remained in the lobby with our luggage and I said I wanted either my money or my 2-bed unit. After about a half hour of us camping out in the lobby, he "found" a 2-bed unit telling me that now someone else would be denied the correct room.
He was very rude.
The room we were given was unkempt, the mattresses were ancient, there were only enough towels for one person. The coffee maker in the 2-bed unit only made one cup and only came with enough coffee for one cup. The "smoke-free" room smelled of cigarettes. The "continental" breakfast that they advertised consisted of day-old stiff donuts, two grocery store boxes of cereal, a regular nearly empty jar of peanut butter and some English muffins.
This is a very bad place and I believe they are running a scam of denying people the rooms that they purchased by blaming on-line reservation companies.
Their initial refusal to give us what we had paid for and then their shoddy condition of their hotel ruined our visit. People should not stay here.

“Quite, and amazing Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 May 2010

I came to Kirkland because it was near the hospital, just up the road. I didn't expect anything fancy. It was still kind of hard to find, even with directions. When i walked in the check-in was smooth and easy. I wasn't sure how long i would have to stay due to the reason i was there. It turned out i only stayed one night, i asked the lady. I believe her name was Jen, or Jeniffer, directions to the nearest Target. She was very friendly, My wife and I actually had a long conversation with her. I would recommend this hotel for my family and friends. It is a older hotel. Quite, Clean, and spacious. The food wasn't all that great in the morning, but what do you expect for the rate. :) Over all I'd give it 4 thumbs up.

“Great place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2009

When I last stayed at the Carlton Inn I was immediately greeting by very friendly staff, who then helped my find a room that was within my price range. I mentioned that I would be using the weight room and hot tub area so she put my in the closest room to the facilities I was looking for which made it a lot easy for me. The room was larger then I had seen in many different hotels and was amazed with the shear size.
