We arrived for a soccer tournament, after having booked 3 weeks in advance, to find the hotel not ready for us at all. They weren't ready by check in at 4:00 pm, they weren't ready by 7:00 pm after our game...they weren't ready after dinner approx. 9:00 pm but muddled through and managed to get all but me into a room. I didn't get a room until ~10:20 pm after they kicked someone else out of room315 to put me in. They didn't clean the room or change the towels, saying the people hadn't been in long so it was ok. I called down to the desk to complain that the washroom reeked of urine and that there were used towels. One of the desk gentlemen came up, couldn't smell the urine and told me there were still plenty of clean, unused towels for me. He said he would take $10.00 of of my room rate for the night because of the inconvenience. I said that I expected this night to be free considering the trouble just getting a room that night.
I didn't speak to management again until check out when I smiled at the desk girl , paid for my room..."on the credit card I reserved under" I said when asked how I'd like to pay, signed the receipt and asked politely for the name and address for the manager of the hotel.
I hadn't seen her before, so did not discuss the dissatisfaction of the hotel with her at all.
Apparently a good offense is the best defense for this hotel, because before we had even arrived back at our homes, a letter of complaint about our group and especially me was sent to our league.
They lied and exagerated about evertything, (thank heavens for many, many letters of complaint from our team to our league) so the truth was exposed.
They were completely incapable of handling a group. They never cleaned our rooms for our 2 night, 3 day stay. These were older teenage boys at a soccer tournament...4 to a room...they had to use the same towels for 3 days...yech!
They screwed up the billings on the rooms, and tried to deflect their complete inadequacy by blaming us. We had sent room assignments ahead with the reservations 3 weeks in advance.
The absolute worst part of it was that none of the hotel staff took ANY kind of responsibilty. The blamed everything and everyone else and never tried to make things right. They just got rude and unhelpful.
Sadly for the Baymont Inn name, we will never stay in another of these establishments, even though they are all independantly owned. Why, when there are so many good chains around would anyone ever take a chance on such a horrible experience ever again. The Wyndam name has also been sullied by this location.
STAY AWAY!!!!

Dear Laurie,
I know it has been some time since you were at the Baymont Inn & Suites in Kirkland, WA, but wanted to let you know that there is a NEW MANAGER IN TOWN. I have read your comments more than once since I arrived and thought of responding, but decided I wanted to wait until some changes had been made. I am confident that you would find a much more pleasant experience if you would give us another try. Not only do we have a very helpful and friendly staff, but we have made many upgrades in the property as well. We have new beds, TVs, paint, carpet, etc. and are continuing to make even more upgrades.
We hope that you will give us another opportunity to be of service to you when in the Kirkland, WA area again. Feel free to contact me at any time.
Respectfully,
Liz Bolian
General Manager
