“Staff make it a home away from home :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

It was necessary for my husband and I to relocate for a temporary position in Washington. We stayed at TownePlace Suites for about 3 1/2 months. The hotel is close enough to everything needed to be comfortable: Southcenter shopping; restaurants; fast food and Starbucks right across the street. It is also halfway between Tacoma and Seattle for some great day trips. But best of all, the Staff at TownePlace went out of their way to make us feel at home and comfortable. Very nice people, warm friendly. They went the extra mile to accommodate. Our stay in WA was only a little blip in our lives, but the experience at the hotel will be remembered fondly forever. Thanks Brent, Travis, Wendy and Keely for the cookies and the love! k~

“Really awful breakfast and really awful sofa bed and really small rooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

The staff are really nice but unfortunately that can't override the terrible breakfast we had. Unlike Springhill Suites, they do not have any hot breakfast at all unless you count biscuits and gravy and rice as hot food. They serve muffins, yogurt which are all average. Definitely not worth staying again. The room was substandard clean and the pull out sofa had a mattress that was so thin, I think my laptop was thicker than it. It does have a kitchenette but I wanted to stay as little time in the room as I possibly had to.

“Very Average TownePlace”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

The property was very difficult to find and the lobby was even more difficult. They franchisee needs to invest in some signage on 180th and then a sign showing the lobby. I drove around the property twice trying to check in.

The rooms are very tired. You can tell this property gets a lot of wear and tear from the folks from Boeing and other corporate clients. My biggest complaint was mildew in the shower. Lots of it.

I give the property and "average" rating.

“Average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

The hotel has a small kitchen with built in microwave and two stove top rings to cook on. A full size refrigerator and freezer and utensils. The bed was comfortable and the staff friendly. The closet is small and the bathroom is large with a shower no bath. I had a real problem getting shampoo from the maids. They left 3 bars of soap every day but no shampoo or toilet paper. I asked the maid in person and she gave me 3 more bars of soap. I had to explain I didn't use soap to wash my hair. It was an on going problem for the 2 weeks I was there. I ended up with a large collection of unused soap that I stacked up on a shelf in the bathroom. This did not stop the maid from adding more but she never gave me shampoo. I stayed on the second floor and the maids never carried a vacuum cleaner up the stairs to clean my floor. Not once in two weeks. Neither did they clean my bathroom floor.

There is a train close by but it runs over a bridge and does not sound it's horn, so I got used to it quite quickly. However the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from other rooms.

The gym is just a treadmill and bike. It had a large TV in it so it was OK. Laundry was 3 washers and 4 dryers. All coin operated.

They did have a free breakfast but after 2 days I just bought my own. Free evening snacks but I only tried it once and wouldn't bother to eat it again.

7/11 and coffee shop nearby and Costcos ccross the street.

Room Tip: On the west side away from the main road and pool are the quietest.

“Meant for business travelers, but also good for tourists”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

We had a late night flight arriving in Seattle and wanted a hotel to stay the night somewhere close by. TownePlace suites definitely met and exceeded our expectations for this purpose. This is an extended-stay like hotel meant for business travelers but we got this hotel through Priceline in their 2.5-star category, although it is much nicer than a 2.5 star hotel. The location is close to Sea-Tac airport (less than 10 min drive). It is located in an industrial area (sort of expected for a business stay place) and we did smell a rubber factory while driving there but the hotel was quiet and insulated from any industrial sounds and smells. We had a room with a single queen bed and a small kitchen area. The bed and comforter were actually more comfortable than many of the "better" hotels I've stayed at, which is good if you want to stay here for days or weeks. The hotel has many freebies - parking, internet access and breakfast in the morning. There was a pool but we didnt use it. Overall, this is a nice hotel if you have business in the area or even if you have a late night arrival like we did and want a decent place to spend the night close to the airport.
