We stayed at this Motel 6 for one reason: it was available. We'd gone on a whim to Mt. St. Helens on a summer weekend, and had to take what was available.
The good:
-- The front desk staff was wonderful, without exception. They were helpful, warm, friendly, professional, and knew the answer to every question.
-- The motel is in a great location, very close to the park, very near the freeway, easy to find.
-- We were able to park close to the room.
The bad:
-- The room smelled of perfume, some sort of icky-sticky air freshener that made both of us wonder what they were covering up. It wasn't a good smell, and there was too much of it.
-- The bathroom was mostly clean, but the shower stall was not. We took a look and opted for scrubbing from the sink that day.
-- The A/C was too weak to do the job on a night after a warmish day (high 80's). The room was sticky and hot.
-- Beds were not comfortable. Those mattresses had seen better days.
I hate leaving this review, because the contact with the front desk people was really outstanding. I'd stay here again only if it were the only place available - it wasn't so terrible I'd never go back, but it sure wasn't good.
