We stayed at the GuestHouse for a wedding. The motel is located behind the Safeway grocery. We rented three rooms. All were clean. One room did not meet our needs and the staff was very good about switching rooms for us. Good beds. The only downside was that the continental breakfast was very limited.

Oversized room was very clean, bed was very comfortable. Simple, but did the job.

GuestHouse Inn and Suites Kelso is in a good location. We found the accommodation to be spacious and comfortable - that we chose to stay on three occasions speaks for itself. Although the eating area is small, we enjoyed our breakfasts there.
We have two observations.
First,Traveller's Cheques are not accepted at Guest House Inn and Suites. We were asked to cash our Traveller's Cheques at Safeways Supermarket, which in our view is taking advantage of both the traveller and Safeways. It also highlights GuestHouse Inn and Suites as an anomaly among good motels and hotels. In a decade of traveling in the USA, we have found that motels, hotels and fuel stations even in remote locations will accept US dollar Traveller's Cheques because they are exactly the same as cash. We pay for the cheques at our bank, before we travel, as a more convenient and safer way of travelling with cash.
Second, the GuestHouse Inn and Suites directories in this motel and others in the chain were out-of-date. For example, Yakima was not listed as a location, so we stayed at a (comfortable) Best Western. In the morning we found that there is, in fact, a GuestHouse Inn and Suites at Yakima. At the time of writing, GuestHouse Inn and Suites centrally has not acknowledged our written comments on these points, but has sent us promotional literature. Notwithstanding we recommend this motel. It is clean, the staff were friendly and the parking and surroundings were ample and pleasant. There are plenty of eating places nearby. The motel offers all one would want with the exceptions mentioned above which has reduced our service rating from excellent to very good.

I wish I had read the reviews here before choosing this hotel. I stayed here while in town for a business convention at the fairgrounds. The hotel was gross, dirty, and outdated. I would not recommend, there are better options across I-5. I checked out after the first night and went to Red Lion across the freeway. Cleaner and better service, for about the same cost.
