If you want a unique and incredibly pleasant travel experience, stay at Lalanie and Greg Wong's Aloha Beachside B and B in the Gig Harbor area. We were pleased with everything and would go there again and again.
We rented two rooms in the "cabana", which is really a two story unit on the shore. It had two bedrooms and a sitting room upstairs, each with a full water view, and a living room, dining room and large kitchen downstairs, laundry room downstairs. Panoramic windows all around and a deck upstairs and down. Since we rented the 2 rooms we had the whole place to ourselves. During a gourmet breakfast an eagle flew over the glass covered dining room in the main house.
If you're interested in a wedding, they have a gazebo and are working on a larger area close by. Wonderful for a honeymoon or family vacation, or just chilling out on a beautiful Washington day. If you have an elderly person the main house is great, the cabana had 27 steps down, but our 90 old grandma handled it ok! Close enough to Tacoma and the glass museum, Ikea and Fry's! Better than a city hotel. Check out their website for pictures [--]
