I found the Aloha B&B online when searching for wedding venues that were local, and potentially affordable. When I contacted the owner she seemed nice and quoted me 845 for a wedding and we set up an appointment to view the place. We fell in love with the venue, and were shocked to find out there were additional fees (venue rental fee 1000, room rental for each night 845, set up fee 350 etc.). We decided this must be standard (first mistake) and decided to do a deposit for our wedding the next day. Over the course of planning for the wedding the owner didn't return phone calls, no showed to scheduled appointments to discuss menu TWICE, and when we were discussing food costs she quoted us the top price she would charge for a meal which would be expensive steak or seafood and told us our meal wouldn't be that price at all but lower. When we were finally able to pin her down to discuss a menu, she again told us our meal would cost less than originally quoted. When she finally got back to us (two weeks later) the price was exactly the top cost of meals. After a lot of haggling, we just settled and paid the higher price because we were now one month away from our wedding and had no other option. The owner ceased responding to emails alltogether, and when we arrived at the venue the night before the wedding there was no warm reception from the main owner, but her husband was very kind. The rooms were not cleaned well (spiders, and hair from the prior guests in the bathroom), and when my bridesmaids went to check into their rooms the beds hadn't been made (still not sure if they got clean sheets or not.) My family decorated the venue while the wedding party got ready and got delayed by the venue owner not wanting table cloths put out on the tables (the only reason to rent the rooms the night before was to get the venue ready in the morning instead of check in time at 3pm.) The food was out already when the ceremony ended, and my new husband and I led the line to eat. I was shocked to find out that over half the agreed upon menu was not correct. She had charged us 30 dollars per person for Costco Rolls, Ceaser salad from costco, a pasta salad with italian dressing, no sauce for the now very cold chicken cordon bleu, no cherries (only request) for the fruit tray, and mushrooms covering the pork. Simple recipes for the salad, pasta, sauce were given and agreed to. The owner didn't bother to warn us she had made changes, nor did she ensure there were no food allergies. We were upset, but ate what was provided as it was too late and the guests were eating. I asked repeatedly for a bill itemized prior to the wedding (months in advance), and again when I arrived at the venue and was turned away. When we finally got the bill (After the wedding was over) the owner still hadn't commended on her switch-a-roo.
In the end, our wedding was beautiful, the setting was pristine, but I would never recommend this place to a bride to be or casual traveler. The "Jacuzzi" is a bathtub not a jetted bath, the floors weren't cleaned in the dining area or bathrooms, and the owner was innapropriate the majority of the time. Please save yourself the trouble of dealing with this place.
