“Never again!”

A friend and I needed to stay in the area the night before a triathlon at Semiahmoo. With little available accommodation, we ended up at the Scottish Lodge, hoping that the reviews we'd seen were unrepresentative. Let's just say our fears were well-founded.

The room was dark, dingy, dirty and - worst of all - damp. There was serious discussion about the possibility of sleeping in our wetsuits so as to have a barrier between us and the sheets! It was almost impossible to close the curtains. When we woke up in the morning our clothes and sandals were damp, as if they'd been out on a dewy night.

The only upside was that we didn't encounter any of the "residents" other reviewers have mentioned. On that front, maybe we were just lucky.

I would rather drive 100 miles each way than stay at the Scottish Lodge ever again.

“Awful”

We went with a group and all that I spoke with had issues but here is what I witnessed.
This hotel had live in residents that were scary and nasty and very suspiciousof us
We walked by one of the live-in's room twice and both times the lady hollered things at us.
my kids found bullet holes in the posts.
our room was dusty and there was paint splattered all over the furniture
fire extinguishers were missing from the hall ways
batteries missing from smoke detector
light bulbs were burnt out
holes in the walls and a gap between the wall and the ceiling
cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and doorways
razor cuts on the bathroom countertops
cigerette burns on the bathtub
the curtains would not close and were falling off the curtain rods due to missing hooks I had to use a hair clip to keep them closed.
and there was no security lock on the door
Very unsettling to stay here.

“Scary Negative 5 Stars”

Wow! I did not imagine that this was a place with live-in tenants that were so lively. If you are an adventurous person that likes to live on the edge, this is the place for you. However, be sure to bring your own sleeping arrangements (a sleeping bag could help). The room conditions were, well, below standard. I do not know if the building inspectors and Fire Marshal ever visit this place. My son told me before we enter; "I can tell what can of place is this by just looking at the sign. I think I am sleeping in the car."

I was one of the parents that brought my Kid to a Soccer tournament. He was kept awake after midnight by all the lively activity that went on with the live-in tenants. I guess that they have their working operation using the hotel as their home base. They were very busy that night. I estimate that their business was doing well.

“This is a one star Hotel”

This is a motel with live in tenants that are scary.
Took my team up here 14 rooms and only one had no problem.
Most had no battery in the smoke detector, holes in walls, one refer door on floor, one TV with no knobs. Oust is a must to sleep here and bring your own pillow and sheets.
Tenants are running the place. teens smoking in the halls telling newcomers to be quiet and walk softer on the warped wooden walkways to the rooms.
Two live in teens told me and my 7 year old the pool was theres and to get out.
Then they proceeded to splash us and say foul words. I told them to stop and they began to speak in their own language and splash some more.
The maids did step up when told and kicked them back to their home(down the hall from my room), They smoked and stared at us as we left.
One person at Office after 5:00PM
I called for a battery, light bub (for the lamp) and towels as my room had 1.
I was told to come to the office and get it because they can not leave the office
while they're alone.
The good news my car was not broken into and the shower has good water pressure.
