“Nice Hotel - They Try Hard - Great Value for the Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2010

We were in Federal Way visiting family. Usually we stay at Hilton Brand or Intercontinental Brand hotels, but there were none of those choices nearby. We decided that given our corporate discount and the proximity to where we wanted to be, this Comfort Inn seemed like the best choice. Overall we were very satisfied with this hotel. Modern and grand, no....but clean and comfortable absolutely fits the bill.

The hotel appears older but well maintained and very clean. The hotel is near a small local mall, Wal-Mart, grocery stores, etc. There is plenty of free outdoor parking at the hotel. They allowed us to check in early and were very pleasant at every interaction. Lots of dining options nearby.

On first entering the lobby, there is a reception desk to your left and a small breakfast / lobby area to the right. The breakfast area was a bit small but we were able to find a table even during peak weekend breakfast hours. Our room was a nice sized king room with microwave, fridge, and wet bar. The room also had a loveseat and table, chair and ottoman, and a nice sized work desk. Closet and bathroom space is acceptable. . The climate control system worked well, and the blower can be set to on for white noise. We were on the fourth floor and the room had vaulted ceilings which made it seem even roomier. The furnishings were a bit dated but clean, carpet, walls, and such were all very clean. The room had an old style 27" CRT TV, but had plenty of channels. No Flat Panel TV here yet, but given the price point of the hotel we did not find this odd. Plenty of plugs around the room for all the electronics we cart around. Curtains did a good job of blocking out the light. The king sized bed itself was comfortable but they have the weakest pillows...like ball them up and they are about as big as netbook! (And I use pretty flat pillows.)

You could hear a bit of noise from the hallways and other rooms but nothing excessive and nothing that kept us awake. No traffic noise was detectible from outside.

The breakfast was nicer than most free breakfasts. They had a multitude of breads, pastries, muffins, fresh fruits, juices, coffee, tea, cider, hot chocolate, milk, cereals, make your own waffles, blueberries, strawberries, sausage, and scrambled eggs. I found the eggs to be good but my wife did not like them. This was a very nice breakfast spread....nicer than most Hampton Inn's or Holiday Inn Express locations. They also had coffee and tea available 24 hours per day in the lobby. They even have newspapers for free on Sunday, a nice touch.

They have two computers but oddly no printer downstairs in the lobby. High Speed Internet connection was strong around our room. They had a small very dated exercise room but a nice indoor pool and hot tub. We would stay here again for sure if we were in the area again. Given the price point the hotel really delivers a quality product.

“Good service, beds, breakfast and has elevator.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2009

Best continental breakfast I've had with great variety including scrambled eggs, sausage, Belgian waffle maker, 3-4 fresh fruits. Beds with 4 pillows very comfortable. Room with frig. & micro convenient. Stayed in room next to elevator and never heard it! Supermarket and coffee shop walking distance, shopping center within a few blocks. Good heater & AC plus window opens. Water flow restricted a little much. Staff friendly and helpful. Two computers in lobby are fast, printed boarding passes. Good experience overall for a 3-day stay.

“Horrible treatment of a soldier!”

At first we thought this was going to be a pleasant stay. We were wrong! My husband (An Army Officer) and I were in the process of moving across the country on military orders. My mother-in-law was with us to help because at the time I was almost 8 months pregnant.

When we returned after getting dinner we were locked out of the room. My husband went to the front desk to ask them to fix our keys. This is when an employee accused us of smoking Marijuana in the room. She didn't ask to enter the room to verify or anything. She was extremely rude about the whole thing. At this point we thought we were on a hidden camera show or something. My husband and I don't even drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes, plus I was 8 months pregnant, and my mother-in-law was with us. We were so furious at the way they treated us we immediately found another hotel to stay at.

I called my credit card immediately to make sure that they hadn't charged us anything. They had- 2 nights room rate, a smoking in a no-smoking room fine, and a fee for stealing pillows. We went back to the hotel they next day and they apologized for the pillow fine, but nothing else. An employee had taken the pillows to give to another room. They were still extremely rude to us. They treated us like we did something wrong, when we didn't do ANYTHING!
My complaint to Choice Hotels resulted in nothing! We will never staty at any Comfort Inn again.

“Was Great upped prices”

We stayed at the comfort inn before going to Maui the following morning in Feb. and had a very comfortable bed, the room was clean and they upgraded us to a suite which was nice but we didn't need it. I just called to book a park and fly for November before going to Cabo and they have doubled there prices. That must be inflation.

Had to travel to east coast from Seattle, this hotel has great park/fly package. New airport van.
Rooms comfortable and able to open window to get fresh air! Some airport noise, but didn't bother me too much. Soon to have high speed internet. Friendly front desk staff. Breakfast so-so.
monday-thursday evening...free evening soup and bread next to fireplace. Jacuzzi and pool a great relief after long drive. Ask for free health club passes next store. Good place overall.
