Our family wanted to have a getaway, and so we choose the Inn at Portgardner in Everett Wa. We couldnt have been more pleased. Not only did we have a wonderful room, but the staff was so friendly we felt like family. It was also great whatching the boats come and go. I was told in the Summer they have a great farmers market too. We will all be back.

We stayed in a double queen room that was so cramped, only 1 person could sit down at the tiny desk/table at once. The noise all night long from the train uncoupling & re-coupling was banging and clanging on a regular basis. Then early in the morning, 2 men who appeared to be homeless took up residence at some outside tables below our window. They were talking trash, drinking, and their cigarette smoke was blowing right into our window!

The "continental breakfast" consisted of 7-11 store type choices; everything overly sugary and uninteresting - barely edible.

When we complained to staff about the noise, they claimed the men worked at the cafe which was connected next to the hotel; but I question whether the cafe employees would be drinking at 8 am on Christmas morning! I think they were railroad bums.

There wasn't a refrigerator or microwave or toaster to heat up the bagel or muffin. It probably would not have helped the quality anyway.....

The pros: clean room, comfortable beds.

For the price we paid, we will be staying at a hotel in nearby Mulkilteo next time we come to Everett where for this price we have more space, refrigerator, microwave & quiet accommodations.

We stayed 3 nights for a sibling reunion. Nothing fancy here, but our room was clean and comfortable. We selected what we wanted for continental breakfast, hung our request card on the door with the requested time, and our breakfast was delivered on time the next morning in a basket outside our door. Nice touch. The only thing we thought was missing was a small table to eat at.

We were on the home stretch of a 5-week driving trip from northern CA to Alaska and back. By the time we reached Everett, we were road-weary and ready for something other than the chains. We found the Inn at Port Gardner and were very pleased. The bed was comfortable, the view of the marina outstanding, the desk staff friendly and helpful--all in all, a great experience. There are many restaurants within walking distance, and the area is safe and fun to walk around after dinner. There was some train noise, but not enough to disturb us. We will definitely return when we're in the area again.
