“wonderful small town motel with stunning view of Mt. Rainier!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2010

The motel managers were helpful and very friendly. We were concerned when booking about a previous review talking about ant/bug problems. When we made our reservation we were told that the problem had been taken care of. It was, not a bug in sight!

There was a very nice continental breakfast that included waffles, sausage, pastries and a stunning view of Mt. Rainier. You could tell that the place was well taken care of and the owners were updating (tile bathrooms).

The town was nice with restaraunts (including bar) next door and on the main street. All in all it was a pleasant surprise on our way to Mt. Rainier. The owners have sister motels in Packwood (Crest Trail Lodge) and Morton (Season's Motel). The managers recommended staying at either one after our journey to Rainier and St. Helen's. oh, the best part was that it was very clean!!!

“Friendly, But Bug Infested”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

We stayed here for one night on the way to Mt. Rainier National Park. Although the room had a great view of Mt. Rainier, it was infested with bugs. In fact the insecticide sprayer was accidentally left in the room. The included breakfast was adequate, but during breakfast we heard another guest complaining about the room being bug infested. Also, was a longer drive the Mt Rainier than we were led to believe on the phone.

Dear Guest,
I'm very sorry that your stay at our motel was unpleasurable due to insects in your room. I'm totally mortified that there were bugs in our rooms. I general manage the motel and other motels in the area for Harrison Christian and I'm really apolled that this happened to you. Never before have we had bug problems. I'm also horrified by the fact that the maintenance at the motel let the equipment in the room. Which I'm not aware of what equipment that might be. I need your help to descibe it to me and what sort of insects you saw in your room. Once again I deeply apologize from the bottom of my heart and want to make it up to you. I would like to mail you a free two nights stay with us and hope that you try us again and have a more pleasuarable experience with us. If you could please send me your address to brandie@whitepasstravel.com I will send you a gift certificate. I would really appreciate it if you could possibly remove or edit your comment for it will never happen again and I don't want to mislead others from staying with us. However, I completely understand if you choose not to.
Sincerely,
Brandie Dantinne

“Good place to stay near Mt. Rainier”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2010

We stayed here May 22, 2010, on a trip to the Mt. Rainier National Park. The motel was very clean and the room had been recently remodeled. Beds were very comfortable, and the location was quiet and conveniently located to some good restaurants. The staff was very courteous and helpful and answered all our questions about the area.

Our only complaint was that the breakfast was not quite what the web site advertised. Instead of "pastry and fresh donuts from a local bakery" they served prepackaged pastries from some commercial bakery in California. They weren't bad, but were certainly not what was advertised. The waffles, however, were delicious, and the breakfast also offered hard-boiled eggs and sausages, which were not mentioned on the Web site.

“Convenient location, comfortable room, nice service and breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2009

When our plane into Seattle arrived late and we called ahead to notify the hotel, we were nervous to hear that the office closed at 10pm. Drove south anyway and were happy to find the caretaker sleeping close to the front desk. Checked in quickly, slept pleasantly and enjoyed a great breakfast with tourist tips for Mount Rainier the next morning.
