We stayed in cabin #16. The cabin itself was charming initially. Several deer walked by almost close enough to touch. That was neat. As our stay progressed, we regretted staying here for our romantic getaway. There was a coffee maker in the room, but no coffee provided. We had to buy it at the camp store for $4.00 a cup. We wanted to watch a movie on our laptop, but there is no place to set it where you can sit comfortably to watch. We thought there would be a place on the beach where we could have a fire, but all the avaliable space was earmarked for water-front cabin renters. The heater clanked all night long...didn't get into a deep sleep either of the two nights we were there. You only have time to wash your hair before the hot water runs out...forget about shaving your legs. It's a shower only, with no room to get out of the stream of water....kept washing the soap off my legs. The second day, when I knew the water would run out quickly, I washed my hair in a hurry and aimed the water at the wall to start shaving. I got four strokes into shaving and the water went cold. They advertise this place as a perfect honeymoon destination, but how you can you feel like being lovey when you get no rest and cannot shave your legs?!? You have to take your garbage down to the store yourself, and do your own dishes, all for $185.00 a night. What a bargain!!! Lot's of kids running around (cutting through the front of the cabin) and you can hear everone's conversations around you. No pool, hot tub, or interesting things to do here.
Room Tip: Try the Rosario or maybe rent a home instead. Better value for the money. More stuff to do; more pri...

Thank you for this review and the note about the hot water. We wish this matter were brought to our attention during your stay so we could have immediately corrected the situation. The lower element on the hot water heater was not working and has since been replaced. Our cabins are booked at 100% occupancy from mid June through mid September, so we do rely on guests to inform us of any maintenance issues that we may possibly not be aware of as part of a normal cabin turnover. Cottage #16 is a small studio-style unit that has a bit more privacy with a tranquil campfire pit next to our wildlife pond. Or, any guest can enjoy a beachfront fire at our communal firepit. An ocean view hot tub (to watch our spectacular sunsets) is also available for guest use. On-site resort activities include kayak and canoe rentals, paddle boards, motor boat rentals, guided kayak tours, guided wildlife and whale watching charters, fishing, crabbing, clamming, tidepools, pier fishing, daily kids' activities (summer only), to name a few. Labor Day Weekend is an exceptionally busy period so we do have more guests on-site than much of the rest of the year, but nobody should have been walking through the private yard in front of #16. This unit was $165 per night for Labor Day Weekend 2011. We take pride in pricing all of our units at or below the average daily rate of other comparable lodgings in the Pacific Northwest.
