“Immaculate!”

I have never been to this part of Washington before so was very excited to visit. Iron Springs resort is wonderful. The reviews about the cabins after the remodel are true. These cabins are beautiful and immaculate. Meticulously clean when traveling is very important to me and this is the best cabin I've ever rented. The location itself is beautiful. The view from the cabin was beautiful and the beach was a pleasure to visit. My dog loved it even though he was forced to be on leash. I was taken aback about one thing though. DRIVING ON THE BEACH! I've never heard of such a thing and was frankly appalled. I did not come to look at traffic out my window. I counted 20 vehicles in less than 5 minutes drive up and down the beach. Thankfully most of the traffic seemed to show up close to evening but that made night time beach walks unattractive. I also think this somewhat contradicts their "dog friendly" advertising. Dogs and cars don't mix. I did not feel like I wanted to walk along the beach with crazy hillbillies driving around without concern for anyone but themselves. I was bummed out the entire time about the lack of concern for the local eco-system and local wildlife. I think it's shameful that locals do this to their beaches. It's hardly pristine beach when you get cars involved. Anyway, there is nothing Iron Springs can do about this except let renters know which they didn't. I wanted to give others a heads up. I know some people like me want to go to beaches to get away from things like traffic. Instead of looking at moon light on the beach for my 3 night stay I was forced to stare at car head lights. Not cool. If I'm ever in the area again Iron Springs is no doubt the place to stay but I'll vacation where there is no driving on beaches in the future. I hope our state gets it together and bans this nonsense. It's backward.

“Amazing View, Excellent Facility”

The other reviews here are very accurate. This is a top notch beach house fully appointed and the views are wonderful. You do get what you pay for, and I think we will come back, but it is just a touch overpriced. I would expect to pay $300 night at peak, but for an off-season rate it was a bit much. There were a lot of vacancies and I would expect if they lowered their prices 25-30% those cabins would all be full.

Room Tip: Try for cabin 10B - superb view.

“Better than Ever!”

I have been going to Iron Springs for over 40 years and never thought it could be updated yet retain it's rustic and homey feel, but the new owners have done it. Each cabin has been completely remodeled and updated but has been done in such a way that memories remain the same. Individual and unique pieces of furniture have been added that make each room warm and inviting. The appliances, fixtures and beds are all top of the line, marble counter tops, new flooring, refurbished decks and BBQ essentials bring everything up to date and make your stay convenient, comfortable and memorable. The entire office staff and new ownership are so pleasant, helpful and simply make you never want to leave.

“Very thorough renovation, our favorite old cabin was like a new place.”

We have stayed here many times over 20 some years, it is fantastic place to stay if you are clamming which is always what we are doing there!

The cabins were all rebuilt and everything made new again.

It is a perfect home base to gear up and head straight to the beach on foot. Just a few minutes walk right out to the clam beds.

The view is unbelievable as they cleared the old out of control vegetation that used to block out the ocean.

I gave the Very Good rating only because my wife wanted a fire and the fireplace was wonky and smoke poured into the room frequently.

You can complain all you want about the high price per night but this place is awesome and you better book early if you expect a room to be left when there is a clamming tide.

Currently everything is worth the higher nightly price, I imagine as all the newness wears off the price has room to drop.

Room Tip: Cabin 17 has a funky fireplace draft. If you want a fire expect smoke to come in the main room. Th...

“Nice for a Price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Iron Springs is now a fair deal if you can afford the $300 per night for a two bedroom cabin. The views are spectacular from the renovated cabins and the beach is practically deserted for blissful solitude. The Office now features a small store including high-end food and wine but the kid's swimming pool is gone -- probably something to do with liability. Speaking of which, we experienced a three hour power outage shortly after we arrived and luckily my wife had brought a flashlight or we would have been in pitch black except for the fireplace -- no candles or contact from the Office -- we were on our own. Kitchen is a huge upgrade over old Iron Springs, particularly the dishwasher, but pots, pans and utensils are merely adequate for light cooking duty. No salt, pepper, sugar or basic spices -- see liability above. Wifi is decent but don't try streaming Hulu. Overall, a very positive experience and worthy of a higher rating once the new Iron Springs smooths out some growing pains.
