Darnell's has a great location right at the water with a little beach, docks, plus a pool and hottub. Overall the place needs an upgrade, everything seems from the 70s. I just needed a place to stay for the Chelan Triathlon and it was good enough for that. Staff was friendly. The water trampolin from earlier reviews is gone.

My Mom, boyfriend and I went to the Lake the first weekend in October. Darnell's has a great little place on the lake with beach, pool, dock and hot tub. However, beyond the control of the resort, there were these horrible hydro-boat races that were the loudest and most annoying things EVER! But the patio table was nice, and the worst thing about Darnell's was the room. It felt very dated, the one bedroom did not have any windows, and you had to walk through the bedroom to get to the bathroom, which was a little inconvenient for my traveling party. The bathroom was VERY small, no nice products either. I also forget my toothbrush, but they didn't have any extras at the front desk, like some places do.
However, the room was about $116, so, for the beach location and three in a room, I guess I felt it wasn't too overpriced. It just felt a little under-mantained.

Not like the old days. Pool didn't seem to be heated. BBQ's were not maintained. Kitchen was old and stove didn't work very well. Room was marginal. I would stay and another location next time.

This place is a dump. I would highly recommend not staying here. When we arrived, they only had one key to our room (an old fashioned key with the room number written on it). When I asked for more keys they said that people must have taken them home! Would you stay in a hotel where multiple people had the key to your room?

The only reason to stay there is that they are right on Lake Chelan with a nice beach that includes a water trampoline. Since Lake Chelan has many other free beaches, it turns out that the only thing that this hotel has to offer is the water trampoline and that's it.

The place is old and run down. Thank God we were able to make reservations at the new beautiful "Lake House" condo right across the street from Don Morse Park. At the Lake House we paid $270 for a beautiful 3 bedroom condo that sleeps 8 comfortably where at Darnells we paid $290 for an old dumpy room.

We had reservations for 3 nights but thank God they let us out for the other 2 nights so we basically threw $290 (plus tax) down the drain but it was worth it to get away from that dump.

We did go back on the day we checked out (later in the afternoon after checking out) hoping that some of the kids could still use the water trampoline but they treated us like we were criminals and told us to leave. Most hotels that I have stayed in let you continue to use their facilities after you have checked out. A good example is the Great Wolf Lodge that has an indoor water park. On the day we checked out, they let us use the water park all the way until closing time which was 9:00 P.M. Two different people went out of their way to tell us to leave the premises.

Please do not stay at this hotel. Do the research and stay at a much better place.
