My husband and I were looking for a romantic weekend getaway last minute, and stumbled upon this place on a web search. The pictures on the website looked perfect, so I gave them a call. Pete answered my call and I found him pleasent, attentive and super-accomodating. He even offered a discount rate I wasn't aware of, that was a steal for this place. We arrived 2 hours early and had every intention of waiting until check in time, we were going to grab some lunch, but our cabin was ready, so we got to enjoy some extra time which was wonderful.
The cabins had snow, and our unobstructed view of the snowy property and hills behind was breath-taking and made us feel we were the only cabin there, even though there are several others. They are laid out well. The cabin we stayed in was the Knotty Pine cabin. It's awesome-everything we could possibly imagine we would want for a relaxing weekend-fireplace, snack basket (and anniversary cider), dvd collection, board games, beautiful & comfortable furniture (amazing woodwork!), and the tub-awesome! I've been in whirlpool tubs before, and it always cracks me up how loud and chaotic some of them are when you turn on the jets! This one is sooooo relaxing and perfect!
There was a winter storm while we were there, and the power was off for 3 or 4 hours, but no big deal for us, their hot water and fireplace are gas, so we were not without, and they laid out a wonderful breakfast for us that morning by candlelight...even cooked scrambled eggs on the wood stove-now that's commitment! The hosts and employees were so plesant and real, and we had wonderful interactions with them. In-room massages-perfect!
The best thing I found about this place, is the character and attention to detail in everything. Definately a lot more for your money then the other lodges/resorts around the area. Meaning, this place has all the big resorts have to offer, with much more lovely accomodations then your regular, or regular-spruced-up hotel room. Stay here, you will love it.
