I just came back from a small wedding held at the Camano Blossom B&B, an hour north of Seattle, near the darling town of Stanwood, WA. I was one of the lucky guests who got to stay in one of the four bedrooms at the charming Camano Blossom B&B. First, the owner, Melissa has made both the main house and the surrounding grounds inviting, warm, and comfortable.Second, she has recently hired a great couple, Candie and Patrick, to manage the place. The breakfasts I ate at the B&B as part of my room package were way beyond a description of just "breakfast." Candie and Patrick also catered the small wedding (30 people?). The ceremony was held outside in a beautifully decorated gazebo, huge exquisite flowers and plants galore with a view of Skagit Bay in the background.
The reception was also on the property in a large facility near the main B&B house. It had its own kitchen and bathroom so non-B&B guests weren't in and out of the main house. The food Candie and Patrick prepared was delicious, attractive and interesting.
If I didn't live on the other side of the US, I would certainly try to schedule my next retreat or reunion there. The small town of Stanwood, a couple of miles away, has some great galleries and antique shops. Just out of town is a movie theatre. There are a couple of state parks on the island and magnificent views of water from most places on the island.
This was truly one of the most low key, lovely weddings in a beautiful, natural site that I've ever attended. I hope to go back next year to do some kayaking or try the new zipline not far from the B&B.
