“Outstanding and Relaxing Resort!”

My husband and I stayed in a 2-bedr unit for 7 days at the end of August. The room was beautifully decorated with VERY comfortable furniture and a full kitchen. The weather this time of year couldn't have been more perfect! Our room was located on the 4th floor looking straight out on the water across the street. We enjoyed a few happy hours at the Shores restaurant (conveniently located right downstairs) for drinks and shrimp cocktails. The Beachhouse restaurant, within walking distance down the road, provided a great seaside lunch, but we were sad to hear they were closing in mid-September. The front-desk staff was very helpful and friendly and the 5th floor lounge was comfortable and inviting, providing books and games for the guests to use, an observation deck with great views and the bbq grills for all to use. The pool and jacuzzi were enjoyed by all the families at the hotel, but luckily they also provide "adult-only" time at 9 pm for the adults with no little ones to enjoy the pool also. We found the Sandcastle at Birch Bay to be the perfect quiet vacation getaway, yet just a few miles from the Canadian border for touring Whie Rock and Vancouver, or a little more than an hour's drive from seeing all the sights in Seattle. Thank you, Sandcastle, for giving us a most perfect vacation with many happy memories! We look forward to returning someday soon!

Spent two nights at the Sandcastle with my wife and 12 year old son and the stay was enjoyed by all. The condo was well decorated, very clean, inviting, comfortable, along with big screen tvs with cable, and a very, very nice kitchen. Great pool. The location cannot be outdone You could throw a rock from the roof top bbq/relaxation area and hit the water. Highly recommend it. We will stay there again!

“Great Family hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

The hotel was nicer than I expected. Great location - Right across from the beach. Walking distance to several restaurants. Outdoor pool was heated at 90 degrees! Kids loved the pool and hot tub. The room was bigger than expected - full kitchen with everything you could need. Check out was 11am. I wish they would have allowed an extra hour but 11:30 was the latest I could receive.

This is a "club" but I am not a member. You can book directly with hotel if rooms are available. I was able to book at 1 bedroom at $195 just a few days before my arrival. The hotel was full due to a wedding so I think the rate may have been higher than usual but I was happy to pay this rate for the room/location/pool. I believe only the 3 bedroom units have a view of the water. Our room had a view of the back golf course but that fine since we spent little time in our room.

Restaurants - On location is The Shores. I would highly reccomend CJ's Beach House over the Shores restaurant. I will write a seperate review on the restaurants.

Our family stayed during July 4th weekend and had a wonderful time. Not only our the fireworks an enjoyment from the top floor balcony, but they offered us a complimentary barbecue beforehand. Kevin with Guest services went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable day. I will beak next year.
