First of all we payed almost $90 to sleep in this room, when we arrived at 4am. The man at the desk asked me if I wanted smoking or non, I said, it does not matter. I was exhausted, did not care, because my husband smokes, but not around me or our children. Well as everything was going well, I get a call from the assistant manager who refused to give me her name(after we checked out and was headed to Florida) and said we smoked in the room and we were going to be charged a $75 cleaning fee. Me in tears on my way to visit my dying Grandma. We were traveling from Ohio, to Florida. I told the lady we did not smoke in the room, she said it had a weird odor. We did clean out our two cars, and we dumped our ashtrays out...etc... (figured could clean our cars out considering they charged so much money to sleep there). But I never in my wildest dreams thought we would be charged because we dumped our ash trays. After this accusation, I asked the assistant manager if I could talk to her supervisor (since she was being heartless and unreasonable and there was laughter in her voice) she said he was not there. I left him a message and still no call back from him. I am disputing this charge with my bank right now. However this lady, was so rude repeatedly called my phone and had great pleasure in charging us this ridiculous fee and to me the whole thing was very wrong and the way they (she) acted was childish. I would have never expected this from RAMADA because I have stayed with them before. After reading other reviews about this place, I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. From other reviews I read it said that they charged someone money for stolen linen... etc... I think they are scamming people and don't much care if these people return. I am not gonna stop, I will get my money back. I don't smoke and I am still very upset that nobody that has any sense has returned my call. These are heart less people. Who take advantage of people. I have even wrote to corporate office and still no replies. I think they are having there housekeepers, or maybe the assistant manager went in there in smoked. However, we did not. I could understand the ashtrays being dumped might have left a smell, but not a $75 smell. They could have been more reasonable. But my advice don't dump your ash tray out, but the best advice I can give you is to NOT STAY at this RAMADA. Blessing to all!! My next call with BBB. Also when we got to Orlando we stayed at a hotel for three nights, that was non-smoking in all the rooms and we had a great time, with no scams. Told one of the front desk people about our incident and they assured me we would not be charged if we dumped our ash trays out.
Room Tip: DON'T stay here!!!
