This home was absolutely gorgeous. Sheila still had her Wintery (minus the Christmasy) decorations up, and my wife swooned. Pine and holly on the oak stair rails, etc.
Chuck and Sheila were SO accomodating. We were, after all, the only guests this mid-winter Thursday night! When we arrived, they had a note on the front door for us, as they were holding a Bible Study in the back room and might not hear the bell. "Come on in!!" it said, "and give a hello". Sheila had cookies freshly baked for us. She asked what we liked to drink in the morning, and sure enough, there was a little table outside our door at 7am with piping hot coffee!
Our room was beautifully decorated, though not too frilly; the bed was very comfortable and the private bathroom nice. There is a den with a TV and lots of reading material, with a stocked refrigerator! (This was perfect as my wife hit the sack at 8pm and I needed to wind down a bit.)
Best of all, the rates are the lowest of all the Winchester B&B's, and I like this one best!
This B&B was easy to find once we got out of Winchester - it's about 5 miles east of town on Hwy 50. The trick was how the highway has been diverted around the new shopping mall on the edge of town. I asked a local at a gas station who said "follow me!" and led us to the right road!
I would definitely stay here again!
