“We were surprised how good this motel is”

Being off season we got this motel at a discounted rate, so we were surprised when they upgraded us to a suite. It was really nice with 2 flat screen tvs. Everything was up to date and clean. all staff was courteous and helpful. We were tired both days at the end of the day so the fact that the restaurant was good and not expensive was a big plus.

“Great for a spur of the moment trip.”

We planned a last minute trip to Williamsburg and found a great deal on a room + breakfast. The staff was very friendly. We stayed in a King suite and it was very clean and had all the ammenities as described on the website. The pool and hot tub area was very nice. The restaurant was very clean and breakfast was standard for a hotel in this category. The hotel is much closer to the historic downtown than many maps make it appear.

Their were only two negatives: I still have not figured out Holiday Inn's pillow strategy. They obviously spend quite a bit on the rooms and bed, but the pillows just seem to have no life left in them. I don't know if individual hotels have any influence on what pillows they get, but it seems other chains in the same price category have it figured out better. The second issue was the alarm clock. Right before my wife and I went to sleep we commented how nice it was going to be to be able to sleep until we woke up on our own. At 6am the alarm clock, which we didn't set, goes off like a sonic bomb that SWAT teams use to disorient hostage takers. Perhaps, we should have checked, but so should have the housekeeper.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and have already reccommended this hotel to others. When we visit Yorktown later this year, this will be our first choice.

“Nice stay”

Stayed in a king suite in early Nov 2011. Paid $109. per night and would not advise you to spend more than that amount. King bed was adequate; pool was clean; hot tub worked well. Free breakfast was OK. Located on Bypass Rd , about 6-12 minutes from most Willamsburg sites.

Room Tip: Top floor in rear of building

“Clean, contemporary and great value!”

We stayed here with our two little boys(5 and 3) on our drive out to Kitty Hawk. I wanted to take them to Jamestown on our way out to the OBX....so Williamsburg was a good stop off point. The hotel was extremely clean and seemed very new. Our boys loved the indoor pool which was a good break from a long car trip, and helpful to keep them entertained while it was raining out. We had a one bed room suite with two queen beds which was absolutely worth the few extra dollars. If we ever come back to specfically visit Historic Wlliamsburg, I would definitely stay here over the park - for sure!

“Not Up to all the hype”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

I do not think this hotel deserves to be the #1 in Williamsburg. It's far from everything considering how small the main area is. The hotel is pretty new, but the rooms are Not amazing. Pillows looked shabby. Bathroom was missing hand towels. The bathroom was not completely clean. Everything is new and nice overall, just not #1 status.
