We planned a last minute trip to Williamsburg and found a great deal on a room + breakfast. The staff was very friendly. We stayed in a King suite and it was very clean and had all the ammenities as described on the website. The pool and hot tub area was very nice. The restaurant was very clean and breakfast was standard for a hotel in this category. The hotel is much closer to the historic downtown than many maps make it appear.
Their were only two negatives: I still have not figured out Holiday Inn's pillow strategy. They obviously spend quite a bit on the rooms and bed, but the pillows just seem to have no life left in them. I don't know if individual hotels have any influence on what pillows they get, but it seems other chains in the same price category have it figured out better. The second issue was the alarm clock. Right before my wife and I went to sleep we commented how nice it was going to be to be able to sleep until we woke up on our own. At 6am the alarm clock, which we didn't set, goes off like a sonic bomb that SWAT teams use to disorient hostage takers. Perhaps, we should have checked, but so should have the housekeeper.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and have already reccommended this hotel to others. When we visit Yorktown later this year, this will be our first choice.
