“A Pleasant Surprise!!!”

We had never stayed at a B&B before, so I was a little skeptical about this. But we experienced nothing but Best-in-Class service and value at the Boxwood Inn. Steve & Sandi have done a spendid job of mixing old-fashioned guest house charm with modern accommodations. Our stay in the Washington Carriage House was very relaxing and comfortable; the large four-post bed, fire place and whirlpool tub allowed for a variety of quiet, relaxing activities - reading, quiet conversation over drinks, a good soak to warm the bones after strolling around Colonial Williamsburg in winter. Though we'd rather not repeat what others have written, we'd be remiss in not echoing their comments of the great breakfasts that are served each morning! The meals are generously proportioned (neither of us had lunch either day of our stay!!!) and included items not found in standard hotels and restaurants. The main house itself was beautifully decorated for the holiday season with personal touches all around. The close proximity to the College of William and Mary, and Colonial Williamsburg make a walking tour ideal! Yet we never heard any traffic off Richmond Road itself. The Boxwood Inn is well worth the stay!

“Lovely!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My boyfriend and I just spent the weekend at Boxwood B&B, we stayed in the Jefferson room. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, Steve made us feel like we were at home. The decoration and layout of the house was just gorgeous. Like everyone else who has commented on, the waffles and french toast were to die for! So delicious! The location of the B&B itself was perfect; within walking distance of Merchants Square and Colonial Williamsburg. The room itself was very spacious and had a very comfy bed, it felt like a cloud. We would definitely recommend to others, and next time we are in Williamsburg there is no doubt we will stay here again :)

“The Best of the Best”

If only I had words to describe the extent to which I enjoyed my stay at the Boxwood Inn. My husband and I stayed in the Washington Carriage House previously this month. A young couple only married for six months, our night at the Boxwood Inn was our last night together before he deployed to the Middle East. The Boxwood Inn was everything we could have hoped for. The Washington Carriage House was absolutely gorgeous, with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub (for two, might I add!), not to mention beautiful hardwood floors, an incredibly spacious shower, and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. If you are looking for romance, or a place to spend time together and escape the world, then you've found the place.

The Boxwood Inn in its entirety was absolutely stunning. The hospitality of Sandi was equally as stunning. She was cheerful and friendly, and although I was incredibly sad in the morning knowing that I was about to say goodbye to my husband for seven months, she still radiated positivity. I didn't have the slightest bit of an appetite in the morning, but two bites of her waffles and I ate almost the entire breakfast. It was delicious.

This isn't the only bed and breakfast in Williamsburg we've ever stayed in; it is, however, the very best.

Room Tip: Washington Carriage House is separate from the rest of the house, and incredibly private.

“Awesome place”

We stayed in the Washington Carriage House for our 25th anniversary. It was more than we ever could have hoped for. Private, beautiful and cozy. We could not have picked a better place to stay. Hosts were very welcoming and made our dinner reservations with a surprise for us at the restaurant....a menu signed by all the workers wishing us a happy anniversary.

“No other B&B measures up to this!”

We returned to the Boxwood Inn after four years and it is even better than we remembered. We love B&B's and have stayed at a lot of them, but NOTHING compares to this place! The decor is like something you would see in a magazine, but Steve and Sandi are so welcoming and gracious that you feel like you're at home. They even helped us plan our activities during the day, and recommended some great restaurants. The location is super convenient, right in the historic area and the college, so you can walk everywhere. Which is good because after Sandi's breakfasts we needed some exercise! We skipped lunch every day because we were so full. Only one warning... staying at the Boxwood Inn is like flying First Class. You will never be comfortable in Coach again.
