“Nice hotel for price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Our stay at the Country Inn was included in our Sweetheart Getaway package. When we pulled into the hotel, we were already aware that we were one of a few people staying at the hotel, based on the empty parking lot and the skeleton crew.
Upon checking in Janice, the receptionist, was very hospitable and cheery. Had us checked in and gave us our welcome package in no time. Within 15 minutes of entering our hotel room and beginning to unpack, Janice gave us a call to check on us and see if we needed anything, this was a shock to me, I was expecting her to tell us something was wrong, I immediately told her we were fine, but asked for directions to a restaurant. Janice notified me that she had a map available at the front desk and that she could map our way to where we wanted to go.
Saturday morning, we slept in late so missed out on checking out the available breakfast. However, we did go to the lobby to use the computers and get some coffee and cookies. Coffee was good, but sadly, there were no cookies available. We left for the day to enjoy our Williamsburg Winery tour, which was part of our Getaway package, and stayed out for the rest of the evening. Upon returning late that night, we entered our room and was a little disappointed that we did not get any housekeeping service.
Sunday morning, we woke up and went down to enjoy breakfast. We found lots of choices, mostly bready, but at least a variety. We made waffles, and as we were waiting for them to cook, the lady maintaining the eating area, asked if we'd like some fresh eggs and sausages instead of the ones that were sitting in the hot plate. She quickly prepped us some fresh eggs and sausages and brought them to our table. After indulging, we returned to our room to pack. Checking out was, I believe, the worst part, I stood at the counter for several minutes waiting to get checked out. Finally the receptionist came out from the back room to check the lobby. The cookie tray was not on the counter and when I inquired about if any were available, she called to the breakfast lady who quickly stated that there were none and asked if they were expecting any guests to check in today.

“NICE HOTEL FOR PRICE BUT A FEW PROBLEMS”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

We stayed one night after visiting Christmas Town. Overall the hotel room was clean and the beds were very confortable. We paid less than 80 night for a one bedroom suite which included a free breakfast buffet. The buffet had a waffle maker, egg patties and sausage, muffins, fruit, oatmeal, cereal etc. However there were a few problems. As others have said, there is not much hot water, especially in the morning (I guess the housekeeping is using it up) so the kids were not able to take a bath. The towels were also thread-bare and unraveling on the edges. There was no shampoo but they did provide conditioner (it was not a two-in-one product), bar soap, and lotion.

We selected this hotel because of the indoor heated pool and hot tub. However, these were dirty and the temperatures were either so hot or cold you could not use it. Despite mutiple complaints from multiple families that the hot tub was way too hot (I have one and like it hot so I am used to hot temperatures but could not get in this one as it was way too hot). The management, although friendly, kept saying they will check it but the temperature was never changed. The first night the pool was an ok temp but a little cold but it was frigid the next morning (like they forgot to turn on the heater or turned it way down at night). We did not see any cookies but they did have free coffee.

“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

This is my third stay at this hotel. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. My only complaint is during the winter months, the hot water doesn't last long in the shower. I also stayed here last August, but didn't have the same problem. Other than that, it's a great place to stay and central to all of the area attractions.

Room Tip: Plan a trip to Busch Gardens Christmas Town during the holidays. You won't be disappointed!

“A great family stay, better than expected.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

This was a new hotel to us, but we left completely happy with the facilities and people that work there. The hotel is conveniently located to both the historic areas of Williamsburg and the shopping outlets.

The rooms were very well made with extremely comfortable beds. The free coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies throughout the day made mine and my kids' day. There was even a small library and reading area, of which we used the former for multiple kids books to read with the kids. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were very clean and we used them in the stay. We were checked in by Ashleigh, a very courteous and attentive employee, and we were welcomed back each time we returned. The hotel itself was very quiet and comfortable, and we felt at home each time we returned.

The breakfast choice was adequate for the star level of the hotel. There was a rotating main selection of food, for example: chicken and biscuits with gravy, or eggs with sausage and hash browns. While it's hard to judge a waffle maker, the resulting waffles here were much better tasting that others we've had at similar hotels. The young woman who waited on the breakfast room every day was very kind to us and our kids, and made sure we had enough to eat before she started closing up at 10AM.

Overall, it was a great stay, and we'd seek out this hotel in future visits to the area.

“Another nice room at Country Inn and Suites”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

We arrived in Williamsburg and enjoyed a stroll around the historic area and did some shopping. It was raining so we decided to find a hotel. We found the Country Inn and Suites and were give a suite for the same price as the room we previously had in Roanoke a few days early. The hotel is very clean and the desk clerk very friendly and helpful. There was a weird heater or AC unit in a closet in the bedroom area which made noise going on and off during the night so that didn't impress us too much. The breakfast the next morning was just OK. The restaurant here was no where as nice as the one in Roanoke. Mostly the same food , but everything just seemed a bit worn out, not as clean maybe? However our room was clean and that's what is the most important to us. Same great coffee, though!~
