“Customer Service? I recommend hiring new welcoming/mgmt staff or you won't last”
Our ordeal with this hotel was a mess! We booked our room online and our credit card with charged. When we arrived in the early afternoon, the receptionist simply stated they had no rooms. My husband gave her the confirmation number and paperwork that showed our credit card had already been charged and she simply replied, "Well, we don't have any available rooms." Finally my husband said, "Well, may I use your phone because we need to find another place to stay."
WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT???
Wouldn't you still want to keep a good name for your hotel despite the mix up and do whatever you could to find a place for your customer to stay -- even if it's at another hotel--WHEN IT'S YOUR MISTAKE that there are no rooms? While we were there, there was also a man telling her that the A/C wasn't working in their room and that it was too hot, especially for his children. She made no effort to assure him that it would be taken care of. Wouldn't you keep calling maintenance until they showed up?? Or offer an explanation that "we have contacted the appropriate personnell and they will be back to fix is as soon as possible?" Thankfully for us, we had booked it through the entertainment-- website. They called this hotel twice (were hung up on once) to straighten the problem out. They had proof that we indeed had registration and that Entertainment had communicated the necessary information to America's Best Value Inn and Suites. Still, no offer of help from the receptionist, so the EXTREMELY HELPFUL OPERATOR FROM ENTERTAINMENT-- accomadated us at the Wingate and the company compensated for the difference in price. WE'RE GLAD WE DIDN'T HAVE TO STAY THERE, seeing the staff was not helpful in any way.
I'm really not picky when it comes to service, but when you're working with customers, PLEASE do everything in your power to make ammends for your mistakes. If you've done ALL in your power and nothing works out, that's understandable, but when you DON'T EVEN TRY AND DON'T CARE then that's a problem.
