“Average hotel. Smallish suites by Embassy Standards”
Stayed here for a couple nights between Christmas and New Years on a family getaway. First a word of warning - get your room in advance. Williamsburg is packed in general over the holidays, and all the Hilton brands were pretty much sold out this week.
As for the hotel, it was just okay. I travel extensively during the year, and as Embassy Suites go, this location has the smallest suites of any that I've stayed at. The rooms are just a little bit bigger than a typical hotel room. The bathrooms are small and the tub is extremely small.
Air conditioning unit was very loud. Probably because its so outdated. There are some old features such as this that the hotel needs to address.
Breakfast was plentiful although during a busy time period, it's a zoo and the lines get long and of course, people trip over each other when it comes to free food so you get plenty of rude behaviour while you're putting up with the breakfast mess. Almost went across the street to Cracker Barrel one morning we were so annoyed with the rude behaviour of the 5 plates of food eating rude 50-something oinkers.
Okay, a positive or two.. The staff was friendly at checkin.. room was cleaned nicely while we were out during the day. Indoor pool/jacuzzi area is really nice and a welcome treat during a winter stay...Hotel is sort of hidden a block of the main drag, but to me that's a great thing - you don't have to listen to traffic all hours of the night.
Room Tip: Be careful not to book rooms 100-104, the bedroom windows face the pool.
