“Classy place to stay.”

Really a great place to stay in Williamsburg. It's about a 5 to 10 minute walk to Merchant Square shops and restaurants and the College of William and Mary is literally right there as well. We stayed in a king size bed suite. The room was huge with a comfortable sitting area. Hotel was quiet, no need for earplugs. The decor is tastefully done. We ate at the 415 grill for dinner located inside the hotel and food and service was good. Prices were not over the top. For breakfast we ate at their other restaurant Papillon; we had their buffet and for the price ($11.95) it was the best breakfast buffet we had! Coffee was good too; made from freshly ground beans and Su, our server was a total sweetheart. The front desk girl, Kim, was friendly but lacked warmth. Overall, we would definitely go back and stay there again!

“A Great Stay. A Great location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The underground parking was so convenient. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The restaurant was delicious with very friendly wait staff. Best of all, the hotel was just a 3 block walk to historic Williamsburg.

“Great place to stay”

We recently wanted a mini-vacation, and decided to take advantage of the low, off season hotel rates. The Hospitality House had an unbeatable location. I also found it a positive break from the sameness of the major hotel chains. The room was done in an old fashioned style, fitting with the hotel, and was very clean. At the off-season room price we paid, the room was fine, but at full price, a refridgerator and larger tv would have been nice. We had free wifi, but be sure and listen to the instructions from the front desk as to how to use it, or you may be charged. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, though the menu did look good. We did enjoy a drink at the bar however, and got very good, friendly service from the 2 women working there. The underground, free parking was another plus, The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is an easy 10 min. walk to the shopping, dining and historical area.

Room Tip: Our room was way back in the hotel. We had a nice enough view, grass and trees, but people with dif...

“Warm and welcoming”

We made reservations to stay here on evening during the holiday season when a major event was occurring and were very surprised to get a nice hotel at less than $100. Walking into the hotel lobby the decorations and ambiance were warm and welcoming. The queen size room had plenty of space and a comfy stuffed chair. The room and bathroom were clean. The hotel was conveniently located near the activities we attended. Rather than eat in the hotel restaurant we opted for something more casual at one of the nearby delis. (Several within a block). The only downside was the indoor parking - one had very low ceilings and both had many columns to avoid when parking. The door staff did direct us to the appropriate parking area based on the size of our vehicle. There is outdoor parking available if you'd prefer. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: From the internet description it appears that a room with 2 double beds has desk chairs instead of t...

“Wonderful Stay”

Within easy walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg, this comfortable hotel is perfect for travelers interested in visiting the historic area. We returned there once again to enjoy the winter holiday and celebrate the New Year, at an average price of $79.00 a night, we couldn't ask for more. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms are large, but our bathroom was on the small side. If you are used to staying at places with flat screen TVs, you might be disappointed. But, who wants to watch TV when you can take a 5 minute walk to Merchant Square? You can park your car when you arrive and leave it there. There is even a convenience store right down the street and lots of nice restaurants. We like Aromas for lunch and the Blue Talon for dinner was also very good. You are close enough to walk to one of Colonial Williamsburg's taverns. As other reviews noted, this hotel is slightly outdated, but for the price and location it can't be beat. I know I will make another return trip to the Hospitality House in the future.
