“Wow, A trendyish Residence Inn?”

This hotel is by far the nicest Residence Inn type hotel we have ever stayed in. Everything is new and updated rather styishly. Granite countertops and stainless steel in the full kitchen. Beautiful. Pendant lighting and upgraded fixtures makes this Residence Inn a joy to stay in.
King sized bed is comfy and has ample pillows.
Indoor pool is really big as is the hot tub.
We are only here for one night but could stay a while here in this spacious and accomodating hotel.

“This is a great place to stay while in this area!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

I was visiting family in the area and stayed here for a week. My experience was positive in every way, with the exception of that eternal hotel problem, thin walls. I'm sensitive to noise, and being able to hear other rooms or hallway noises bothers me, and I had asked for a quiet room. Even so, there was more noise than I would have liked. Thank heavens my neighbors weren't raucous or 2 AM TV watchers, as I could hear TV or conversation bleed through the walls. Everything else about the property was great-- decor was pleasing, layout and size of my efficiency was good (I love that the bed & bath are angled off from the kitchen/sitting area). Full kitchenette was a wonderful thing to have. There was an ipod dock--yay! --and plenty of outlets and good lighting! The hairdryer was powerful enough to dry my hair, not wambly like many hotel models. The entire property was attractive, neat, clean, and well-kept. I loved having an indoor pool and jacuzzi in the winter. The daily breakfast was quite adequate, even for my gluten-free diet, and staff couldn't have been more helpful or courteous. The hotel information booklet says they will even grocery shop for you at no extra charge... .

I grew up in the area, so I know my way around, but the location (just off I64 & a few miles west of the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline) is convenient for anyone either doing business in the area or sightseeing. There are several chain restaurants, a new mexican restaurant, and lots of "middle america" shopping right there (super-Wal-Mart, higher-end grocery--Martin's, Target, Home Depot, Kohls, Starbucks, Lowes, etc.), as well as many other smaller businesses like banks, jewelry stores, carwash, nail place, etc. Even though the "stripmall" surroundings aren't visually arresting, the view of the Blue Ridge is eye-popping.

I think this hotel is a very good value, and would recommend. I would stay here again. If you're more sensitive to noise, like me, book directly with the hotel and ask for the quietest possible room, but still come prepared to experience some neighborly buzz if you're next to or across from people talking or watching TV--I wonder if this isn't pretty common in moderately priced hotels. I love that there is a comfortable, affordable, and NICE hotel where I can stay when I come home to visit--and one that's close enough to my family so I don't have to travel miles to get to their house.

Room Tip: Book directly w/the hotel and ask for a quiet room (which I did). Third floor (top) is probably less...

“Comfortable, Newer Residence Inn”

We've stayed at this hotel twice and were happy with our experience both times. The hotel is fairly new and has fresh, modern decor. Our 1BR suite included a full kitchen and a fireplace. The bedroom was in the back, away from the front door and very quiet. The bed was comfortable. Self-serve breakfast was included in our rate and was fairly good as far as free breakfasts go. The offerings included scrambled eggs, patty sausage, yogurt, cereal, breads and fruit. The staff was pleasant although our check-in experience on both occasions wasn't as professional as we generally receive at Marriott properties. I had to remind the staff that I was a gold rewards member and ask for a room upgrade. The front desk staff didn't know anything about the program and had to ask a manager for assistance. One staff member told me "you'll have to ask Marriott about that" before getting help. The hotel location is nothing special - right off the highway, across from a Home Depot with other large national chain stores nearby. But it was quiet and had easy access to the interstate. Skyline Drive, wineries, breweries and restaurants were a relatively short drive away. There is an Outback Steakhouse and a Mexican restaurant right next door, though we prefer the excellent local restaurants in Staunton, which has an appealing downtown and is about a 15 minute drive from the hotel.

“Excellent Stay”

My girlfriend and I wanted to spend the weekend in the Charlotteville area to visit Montecello and hit some of the many wineries in the area but due to a football game at the Univ of Va that night, not many rooms were available. We drove back to Waynesboro and found a room here. What a nice surprise. Friendly staff, a roomy and super clean suite with modern kitchen and flat screen TV in the living room. All for about the same price we would have paid for a rundown econo hotel in Cville. Add the hot breakfast buffet included with the room and this place proved to be quite a bargain. Well worth the 15 or 20 min drive from Cville,Highly recommended.

“Finally! A Marriott Property in Waynesboro!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

I was in Waynesboro for a couple of nights for business, and was very excited to find that there is finally a Marriott property. This hotel is pretty new, so the rooms are updated with the most current Marriott schemes. I was upgraded to a two bedroom suite, which was great - very roomy and comfortable. The staff at the hotel is excellent, the hotel is conveniently located just off Interstate 64, and as is standard with Residence Inns, the room had a full kitchen.
