I booked the room on-line and the pictures do not represent what the actual room looks like.
My husband and I got to the hotel early but could not check in because the room was not cleaned yet. OK...we went and had something to eat and returned. When we arrived at the room, the door was hard to open...it looked as if someone tried to pry it open from previous attempts. When we walked in the room, I gave it a quick once over. The carpet was thread-bear, the microwave looked like it had been dropped, the curtain's hook was not attached, the windows were filthy, the bathroom had mold, the dresser and desk looked like it hadn't seen water or disinfectant in years. We were afraid to put our bags on the floor. The bed linen looked nice enough, but I was afraid to put my head on the pillows because of how the rest of the room looked. . The only redeeming quality about this room was the view. It was right on the oceanfront. We had contemplated about trying to "tough it out" because we wanted an oceanfront view and we considered going to the store and buying disinfectant to sterilize the room. However, we were on vacation and didn't want to "work" to stay in the room. We called the front desk and asked to speak to the manager on duty. The person said there was no manager and what was the problem. I told her the room was filthy and we could not stay there any longer. We packed our things and went to the front desk to get our money back. We were willing to pay for one night since we had been there a couple of hours. The person at the front desk said she would refund the full amount for the 3 nights for which we had made reservations.
We booked another hotel which was not on the beach but was 1,000 times better than the Palm Gove Hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. IT SHOULD BE CONDEMNED. THIS WAS THE WORST.
In checking my account when we arrived back home, they did charge us for a night's lodging. I started to take this matter further, but I chalk it up to "caveat emptor."

Hotel had nice oceanfront we stayed on the 2nd floor room was ok but the 3rd floor room was more nice but same price we stayed in room with king bed. There was a problem with entering into room sometimes we had to go to the front desk and fix the card problem. There was a smell in the hallway and stairway. 1st night there was soap and towels everything but second night I had to ask for towels and soap.

Dirtiest hotel around. I stayed here a few years back when it was the Tropicana and it was bad but not as bad as this hotel is run now. Locks don't work filthy room, filthy hallways, disgustingly filthy elevators and the price was very high. I write this reveiw as I am staying here on august 10 2011. I went down to a store and bought Purell and then stripped the bed down and checked for bed bugs out of fear. Boasts free wireless internet but it wouldn't work, luckily i could tap into the connection next door. Boasts 23 tv channels and only 3 worked and the tv had to be from the early 1980's with bad lines through it. hot tub looked so disgusting i wouldn't put my suitcase near it. bed was like a box spring with a sheet on it. My suggestion is you would be better off sleeping out on the beach all night then being inside here and i am being nice.

wow! no please do not book this hotel.. room smelled like mildew... underneath the sink was MOLD!!! cob webs everrrryyywhhere.. and what kind of hotel doesnt provide you with shampoo and conditioner...seriously?????? THIS ONE!!! elevator ( only one for entire building) was so slow it was faster to take 5 flights of stairs....floors were soaking wet.. i understand its ocean front but i stayed at 2 other hotels during my trip and neither had the wet floors...nor horrible smell tht the entire hotel had.room was humid and wet feeling like there wasnt a humidifer in the room.. which most hotels have due to the moisture and ocean.. palm grove doesnt. yes its oceanfront and in a great location but omgoodness its horrrriibbblllleee .......
