I wanted somewhere to stay that was close to home but not home and this was a comfortable and perfect spot. The staff was cordial and the room was great. It was comfortable, clean and cozy. I was very satisfied.

For a $60 per night rate I was suitably impressed with this place. I wasn't feeling particularly confident about my stay beforehand - I have rarely booked budget accommodation and I had never heard of this chain, and as I booked it through Hotwire I didn't know what I was getting until I'd got it (I can usually relatively successfully second guess the Hotwire hotel before I book, but on this occasion I guessed wrong).

The check-in was very smooth, the person behind the reception desk a bit gruff, but efficient, and when we got to our room, up on the 3rd (top) floor, it was sparkling clean, which was one of my main concerns. The room ws relatively new, with a queen bed, a comfy seat with foot rest, lots of draw space if you were staying a while and a kitchenette with fridge, freezer, microwave and 2 of everything like utensils and crockery and cups. There was a bag of coffee too.

As per another guests comments, do remember to take your own toiletries, as you will only find 2 bars of soap in the room.

There is a Macdonalds and a Wendy's well within 5 minutes walk, and I also saw a genral store over the road although it did look kind of run down and I didn't go in it.

On the down side, the air con was kind of noisy. I also noticed that most of the other clientel while we were there consisted of very young couples who spent lots of time kissing etc in the parking lot - I suppose that's what you get for accommodation of this price, but whether this bothers you will depend on the strength of your stomach! . There was a blown up condom bobbing around at the front of the lobby in the morning too - not so tasteful. but I guess it could just of easily have blown across from one of the other low-cost hotels and motels in this area.

Much like 'Studio 6', these places are the barest of the bare-bones extended stays. No coffee service. No morning snacks. No dishwasher. Just a fairly decent kitchenette-equipped room in a reasonably good area of Virginia Beach.

The place did seem mostly occupied by large groups of transient workers bunking together. But, sadly, that’s what life’s come to in the States for so many workers, isn't it? Besides, if you're slumming down at the sub-$100 end of the lodging scale - say because it's all you can find when traveling with your dog - well, you get what you pay for, right?

Speaking of pets, do note the $25/night add-on. This is because the “guest room carpet is cleaned, all bedding is washed, and a professional exterminator treats the room after a guest with a pet checks out.” I bet!

I had to stay at this hotel for 3 months and it was terrible. Appearantly, if you stay there more than a week, your room only gets cleaned once a week, but on a specific day. This day changed every week, so I found myself going to the front office or chasing down a maintenence lady almost every other day for toilet paper, soap, towels, etc. The staff was nice, but somewhat nosy. They charge you about $175 a night and the location is not really all that. Your near an interstate, a mall (not the best one in the city), and a lot of restaurants.
There is a wooded area on the back side of the hotel, so at night you have to be careful of bobcats, alleycats, and one time I even saw some kind of hawk. They only offer 1 full bed or 2 twin beds rooms, and the beds are really hard, kind of like a cheap kids bedroom set. Also, they use a satellite instead of cable, so you end up only getting like 15 stations on your tv. If you have no other resorts it is an okay place to stay for one night, but other than that I wouldnt recommend it. On the up side, the wooded area that I mentioned earlier will be torn down soon as the city is turning that area into what will be downtown Virginia Beach, maybe after that they will upgrade the place to fit in with the surroundings.
