MY huband and i just returned from a 5 nite stay.there at the end of july. to tell you the truth i was very dissappointed in the pool are for onle. there were only 4 loung chairs availabe (no room for any more) and people walked in directly from the beach and pool area and werent staying at the hotel without anyone questioning them. our bathroom tub and tiles had unsightly mildew. the metal bracket around the shower was falling off. the b/r light flickered constantly. there were 5 floors with 3 ice machines. most of the time the ice machines were out of order or no ice avaliable. the price for the room was high for the quality of service. they boast free coffee yet every moring had to wait for a new pot to brew. there were 52 rooms and 1 pot of coffee.one of the front desk clerks was very cold when asked to make fresh coffee.yikes probably wont stay there again.

I just stayed at the BW with my family for our vacation, 7/06. Upon arrival, we were told that our reservations were cancelled and they didn't know why. Our travel agent set up a Delta Vacation for us and the agent wasn't even notified of this cancellation. And we were told there were no rooms available. After some VERY stressful conversation with the desk clerk, our agent and Delta Vacations, suddenly a room apeared! But it would cost us more money. Long story short, we got our kitchenette for the price of the standard room and the attitude of the desk clerk changed dramatically!! The room was clean, beds were comfortable but the kitchen had no utensils or dishes. Just paper cups for coffee.
I was an ok place to stay, but because of the rude clerk, we won't be going there again............

My family and I have just returned from a 2-night stay at BW BQI. We were disappointed in our stay in several ways.
1) Parking is awkward due to the triangular shape of the property
2) The hotel is 1-block off the ocean. However, being on the 3rd floor, you can see a wide view of the ocean and Rudee inlet (unfortunately these are not close). Higher floors are probably better
3). A balcony is virtually non-existent. It is not even large enough for a chair
4). The room had a bad odor
5). The pool was not at all inviting. Besides, the shallow end (3') is at the small side of the trianglular shape of the pool.
6). Internet access was unavailable for my room. The only options for this were wireless in the lobby (if you have a wireless card) or to stay in an efficiency that has a Cat5 data port. The staff person in the lobby was rude in dealing with this and was not helpful.
7). The hotel is not near "Beach Street USA" which is one of my favorite attractions of VB.
8). Only the ice machine on the 6th floor worked, the other 2 machines did not dispense any ice.
9). There was no mini-fridge in the room.

Given the price of about $120, it is one of the cheapest places to stay on the beach. If you have pets, then this may be good for you (I noticed dogs in one of the rooms). Otherwise, I would not recommend staying at BW BQI and will not be returning there myself.

There was nothing appealing about this hotel. We moved to another hotel on the beach the next day. This hotel is NOT on the beach. It is across the street and the view is very limited. The description and pictures they give are very deceiving. It is also on the seedier side of the beach and definitely not recommended for families. The elevator was small and seemed less than safe. The room was small and dirty. It took 5 minutes to get hot water in the shower and the water pressure was like a drinking fountain. The "kitchens" do not have pots/pans/utensils and the appliances are a joke. Do NOT stay here!
